Hi. We are new members to Amazon Prime. I was thinking of having some items (water, snacks and cereal) delivered to the BCV for our stay. I was reading on the boards that the conference resorts charge for accepting deliveries for guests. Has anyone stayed at the Beach Club Villas recently and had Amazon Prime deliver? If so, do you remember what the resort fee was?

Also, for those who are members of Amazon Prime, one more question, please. When I was looking on line, each item told me what percentage of my pantry box that item filled. Do I get free shipping on just one box or as many as I need.

Thank you for any info you have! I appreciate it.

Last time we had stuff delivered it was 8$ per box. Some people report not getting charged but we have always been charged. Also, be aware that you may place one order with Amazon prime but the individual items may get shipped in separate boxes so they you may get him with a separate "handling" fee by the resort.

It sounds like you are looking at Prime Pantry. Amazon charges $5.99 per box for shipping. -- Suzanne

I was told that if the resort is a convention resort there is a $25.00 fee for accepting and handling a package.

We've never been charged that much - I think the last time we had a Prime delivery was on our 2013 trip and it was 8$ per box. Granted prices may have gone up but 25$ seems insane: note to self to NOT have anything delivered until confirming the price.

KBVancouver - you might just want to call the hotel directly. I'd hate to tell you 8$ per box and have it really be 25$.

Thank you everyone. I thought that having Amazon Prime would allow me to have free shipping from Amazon pantry. The $5.95/box delivery from Amazon + whatever the charge would be from the BCV, made me decide to have the groceries delivered from Garden Grocer.

Thank you for your help.
Kim

I haven't stayed at BCV, but it cost me $10 last October to pick up my package from BWV's convention center. I think the cost depends on the weight of the package(s).

So obvious answer (don't know why I didn't think of this earlier :confused3 ) - I checked the official disney website:

Parcel Handling Fees
Handling fee includes receipt of item from carrier, storage for up to 3 days, onetime Guest package delivery or pickup, placing item with carrier for shipment, and tracking. Postage is not included.

  • Envelope: $3.00
  • Small Box: $3.00 (up to 4 lbs)
  • Med Box: $5.00 (5 lbs – 20 lbs)
  • Large Box: $10.00 (21 lbs – 70 lbs)
  • Golf Club: $10.00
  • Display Cases: $15.00
  • Pallets: $70.00 per 100 lbs

Is this every resort? I know BWV charged me up the wazoo for my 5 boxes :(

We had always been under the impression it was just resorts that have conference centers (which is pretty much every place we stay) but the wording on Disney's website makes it look like it is all resorts:
  • Your package can be picked up from or delivered to most locations at Walt Disney World Resort. You must be present to accept delivery. Handling fee covers one pickup or delivery only. (Contact the Front Desk if your Resort hotel does not have a Business Center.)

It is not every resort, it is Convention Resorts But both BWV BWi, YC and BC are in this category. Not only are you charged the fee but you are subject to the Convention Center hours. We arrived last year at BCV on Sunday and the Convention Center - with my oxygen - was closed. It was very difficult

I'm staying at poly in January... Is that a convention resort?

After my BWV stay(s), I'm loathe to send packages to myself. I usually stay at BWV bc of the std 1 or 2bd. But mixing it up this year... Never stayed in a studio before!

OK - I need some clarification. We are DVC and we always stay at AKV, OKW, SSR. We have upcoming reservations this year at BCV and BWV. We always have groceries delivered from Garden Grocer. Are we going to be charged a delivery fee? We are also also arriving on Sunday (same day groceries are delivered) is getting them going to be a problem? At the other resorts they always just hold everything at bell services along with our owners locker. Is there a charge for getting our owers locker delivered?

We stayed at BWV in a studio in 2015, and 2014 and both times we had ordered from Garden grocer and bell services brought it up and I tipped him, no going to the convention center for pick up and no extra charge? Wonder why?

I am thinking you did not get charged the fee because your stuff was delivered directly to bell services. I assume it is the same with owners lockers? Has anyone had to pay to pick up their owners locker?

I sure hope that was the case! I am staying at Beach club next april and will order from garden grocer again, hope we dont get charged a fee :(

The fee is charged by the outside contractor under contract to Disney to run the business centers at the convention resorts, for DVC it's BLT, BCV, and BWV. The fee applies to packages delivered by USPS, UPS, FedEx and other common carriers. The fee does not apply for deliveries to Bell Services, luggage, food, ECVs, cribs, strollers, but bell services does expect a tip.
