Amazon Prime monthly plan

I see Amazon is now offering a monthly plan for Amazon Prime. You also can just order Amazon Video. While I realize it will cost more to do it this way- I like it because there are certain times of the year that I use it more than other times.

Does anyone know if it can be paid using a gift card now?
