Amazon Prime has removed all Disney Channel titles

I noticed last night that Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, Miles, Sheriff Callie, etc etc etc were all missing from my kids kindle.

After a LOT of runaround on the phone this morning I finally found out that Amazon's license agreement with Disney expired, which has removed all of their content from the prime library. This is a HUGE loss, and I am sort of astounded that there are no articles about it anywhere.

If you have a Prime membership, your children have a Kid's Kindle, or you have ever enjoyed this content, I encourage you to contact Amazon and make it clear that dropping this much content is unacceptable.

They have a policy lately of dropping any content that they can't get exclusive rights too. On February 15th for example they are dropping all BBC programming. The only way trends like this stop is when people complain loud and long enough.

I don't know this for sure, but it looks like Netflix has exclusivity for pretty much all Disney content now. Amazon seems to have all the Nick stuff exclusively.

these exclusivity wars are a huge consumer problem. In researching this I've found lists of other content Amazon is removing. When content providers play this game, everyone looses content. For all the things Amazon is giving up, they aren't gaining anything to replace it.

Technically, Disney removed all of their content from Amazon, not the other way around. I'm sure Amazon wasn't happy about losing the Disney Channel programs, but if another service enters into an exclusive agreement, the other providers lose out.

Amazon let the license expire, or at least that is the story I am hearing from guys who work in their instant video department.
