Amazon prime day!

Do you need a blue tooth speaker for the dot, or is there one built in? I'm debating to get one for our upstairs. We have the echo already downstairs.

The dot does have a speaker but it isn't the greatest. If you are getting it for the main purpose of listening to music then a bluetooth speaker would be best. If you are just using it to control some of your smart electronics its not necessary.

I'm not looking for anything specific but I did find some things that I "needed" LOL.
I grabbed a band with a buckle for my Alta. I have the fitbit brand leather band but recently its been falling off. I hope this band is just as comfortable.
I grabbed a portable charger for my Amazon dot. I always hated that it has to stay plugged in, and now I can move it around even if there isn't an outlet nearby.
I also got a new Kindle book, got the 40% credit in my account right away and bought another book. You only get the credit one time, so make sure you buy the more expensive book first.
Can you tell me where in my account to look for the credit? I bought a book but haven't got a confirmation email that I bought it though it does show in my orders.

I don't know. After my initial purchase I clicked on another book and under the buy with 1-click tab it said "you have a $6 credit......"
I then checked my email and saw the promo email so I never bothered to check my account.
I was surprised it came so quickly since it said "within", or "in" 24 hours you would receive the promo email.
You can do online chat with them, they are usually very helpful.

Sooo we got the Echo (well my husband really wanted that). He was talking about getting 2 dots instead of the echo but I remembered he talked about this last year and mentioned the speaker not being all that great with the dot. Well the thing is we already have a bluetooth speaker that was $10 at Walmart and works just fine.

We pulled up a YouTube video comparison of the Echo and the dot and oh lord that dot speaker is way worse than the $10 bluetooth speaker we already own and the bass is much much better on the echo than the dot (which you sorta expect given the size of the dot). No reason to spend $35 to get a worse speaker than you already own. So I told my husband if you're going to get one or the other (as he really wanted to get one-he gets like that with electronics lol) get the Echo even though it was $89.99 (plus tax) vs $69.98 (plus tax for 2 dots). He had a $100 Amazon gift card from his birthday this year and last year so we used that for the Echo.

Then we bought a grill cover for $15.95 (plus tax).

The echo and the grill cover shipped today and will be here tomorrow.

Then we renewed my Kindle Unlimited subscription for just under $144 which is for 24 months. I got that deal with I first bought Kindle Unlimited 2 years ago during Prime Day so I was glad it worked again this time around. It comes out to $5.99-ish a month that way.

I still have a few things I'm 'Watching' soooo I may not be done yet lol.

Yeah, I'll give them a call if it doesn't show up by tomorrow. It's odd I didn't get the email confirmation that I bought the book. That's usually pretty instant.

Do you like the kindle unlimited subscription? Are you able to find the books you want? Debating getting it...

I found lots of good deals. Jeans, echo, packing cubes, kids' clothes. I probably need to step away from the amazon website for a bit.

I'm sure you'll get it, they are probably running slower than normal today. I may have just been lucky.

I personally love the Kindle Unlimited (KU) subscription. Most of the books I read are romances though lol. There have been some really fantastic books and not so fantastic books (either subpar plots or lots of errors in which case I was glad I didn't outright pay for it). But I truly have found it amazing to read books that my library doesn't carry or can't get through an interlibrary loan.

I have a Kindle Voyage but I do know that there are magazines included in KU so if you have a tablet (or you could use your computer too) and wanted to read magazines on it with the color and all, that expands the benefits to KU.

Probably the only real downside is the limit of 10 items being borrowed at any given time. I totally get why they have a limit but I have a terrible habit at times of bouncing around from book to book given my mood lol. Some books I can't put down and other take time to read. But unlike a library you don't have a time limit. I know for whatever reason there is a book on my Kindle Voyage that I borrowed over a year ago that I haven't gotten around to reading yet. I would return it but that particular book is no longer included in Kindle Unlimited. I guess that is something to look out for that at times books are included in KU and then taken out of rotation. But I have seen books then return back to being including in KU so I guess that part can ebb and flow.

Is anyone here NOT a romance novel fan and still get a lot of use out of Kindle Unlimited? We like science fiction, historical fiction and fantasy that doesn't involve sparkly vampires. I love old mysteries and some horror. I'm not likely to read many books that are on Oprah's list if that tells you anything. No chic lit. No romance. DH says he can't find much on Kindle Unlimited. I haven't taken a good look yet.

Could check out the Dash buttons. They have many of them on sale for .99 and you get the 4.99 credit after your first order with it. I'm looking at them as a roughly $4 coupon (there's sales tax :( ) even if I never use them again after the first order.

try your library kindle book lending. I have had my Kindle for 6 years and got it because the local library system started having Kindle books. I have noticed over the years that there are a lot more mainstream and best sellers available at my library than there used to be.

Bought a Graco 3-in-1 harness booster seat for my daughter (pink style only) for $67!

Needed one for my son (that wasn't pink) but it was cheaper to go through Babies R Us since they're offering 20% off sitewide. Got one for $81 at Babies R Us rather than $93 through Amazon. So definitely shop around down to model/color.

I bought season 2 of Outlander on Blu Ray for almost $10 off. With tax it was just over $20.00.

I guess my response wasn't what you were looking for :confused3 Didn't realize that the only thing you would get out of my comment was about romance novels...

You may want to go onto Amazon yourself then and take a look. I assure you it's not just filled with romance novels...

*And that's just a snippet of the thousands and thousands of books they offer. I took a few screen shots of which some include genres you mentioned....*

I bought 2 Kindle Fire 8GB for my classroom, and 2 electric pencil sharpeners. I am going to go to camelcamelcamel to be alerted if my document camera drops in price.

Along with diapers I've bought: dog treats that we normally buy and I alerted my brother that the baby carrier I have on my BBB registry was $57 vs. $90 thinking he may want to purchase that as a shower gift. He did! I'm a little bummed that the gift cards sell out so quickly. Would have loved to buy some restaurant gift cards that aren't as cheap on the resale sites - plus I'm more comfortable buying from Amazon as well.
