As you know and have seen the countless commercials Amazon will have Prime Day this time on July 15th through July 16th. And this amazing sale may be the perfect chance to begin early Christmas shopping or scouting terrific bargains on almost anything you need. So be prepared to look for awesome deals
Let me know what you find and discover

Yeah - I always feel its a bit overhyped.
Also - everyone else seems to have deals at this time as well to compete - so keep an eye on them as well. (Walmart, best but etc..)

Does not mean I don't have a bunch of stuff in my wish list that I am waiting to buy just in case. If I can save a few dollars on things I need anyway works for me.

Also they often have good deals on various streaming services, so watch for that.

Someone gave me this tip and I love it: load your cart with stuff you want for Prime Day and take a screenshot with all the prices. That way when prime day hits you'll quickly be able to see if you're saving anything or not. Prime is notorious for artificially inflating the MSRP on Prime Day and "discounting" down to the same price it was before.

This is almost what I do. I tend to add things to my cart all the time and wait for the price to drop. I don’t screenshot it though bc I tend to remember the prices and notice when they drop to a great deal. I have tons of stuff added for our cruise in Nov, along with some back to school stuff, and stuff I always order. Hoping something drops on Prime day. I don’t usually get sucked into the junk they try to sell as great deals.

In my eyes I think this year's Prime Day will be big for Amazon this year because I think they are expecting people to buy a lot for the summer especially since people go on summer vacation during the summer. If this is a successful Prime Day I can Amazon will have another Prime Day around November to get started on Black Friday sales during Thanksgiving week

Prime Day is usually in July. The only reason this one might be different is because of anti-trust lawsuit that was filed last year. The FTC and 17 states are suing the company. One would think that it might change their behavior but.... it's Amazon, so who knows.

Anyone finding great deals at Prime Day today? Just curious?

We've been eyeing solar power stations and knew several brands were supposed to be in on the Prime Day deals. Savings in the $700-750 range. Just not sure I can pull the trigger when I'm still unsure if it meets some of the basic needs we're looking to fulfill in an outage. Not sure it's really a deal since I was digging through reviews and found a lot of faulty or incomplete products sent on Prime Day last year and how it didn't go well trying to get things made right.

The things I am interested in are not very discounted.
$89 dollar item for $85

Nope.

A few things that I could get for my trip, but I have a bunch of Amazon Points coming from paying off my credit card so going to use those instead. Would have been great to be able to stack them but oh well.

I found a couple things that I had been eyeing (and using other's tactics - watching prices to be sure the "sale" was an actual sale price!). I always end up getting a few things for the dog!
I have a giant list of Disney stuff that I am tracking and I see a few things on that list. However... my next trip isn't until February, so I'm just not sure I want to get things this early. Yeah, I'll save a few dollars I guess.
Also, some of the things are shirts and ears. What if our plans change or I change my mind about outfits between now and then? I guess I'll keep thinking today and tomorrow...

A few things on my wishlist/buy again are a couple bucks off, but nothing to make me pull the trigger right now. I don't have a lot of space for stockpiling, and the wish list stuff needs to come down more before I'm willing to buy it. There will be more sales later.

DD17 has put in several orders so far. No clue if she's saved much, but it's all stuff she thinks she'll need for her dorm. For me, I've been pricing solar generators/power stations. The ones I'd been looking at are supposedly in the savings range of $700-750, but there too many issues with them that I can't seem to pull the trigger and buy.

I got a pair of hiking boots for my son for his birthday that were 50% off so I am happy. Also got a pair of Crocs for my husband for camping (only time he wears them) for $24 so happy with that too. May browse a little more later.

We have the VTOMAN Jump 1500x And would HIGHLY recommend it. It is on sale for I believe $459 on Prime. We use when we go tent camping for two weeks at a time! It powers my Keurig coffee machine while in the woods, charges all our electronics as well as it can jumpstart our car. We have had it for over 2 years now and cannot speak highly enough about it.

My son has a Jackery with less power and wishes he bought one of these instead. The same power on a Jackery would be well over $1000.

Hope this helps!

Not a single lightening deal has caught my eye but a few staples are a couple of dollars off so they are in the cart. in the mean time, DH is Amazon drunk and has almost $700 of items in the cart. I am waiting for him to see the total price and start taking things out of the cart.

inflating prices for sure. i got an email today and thought the supposed big prime savings on some appliances seemed off so i did a google search and found that the price amazon claims is it's norm is almost 25% higher than the normal msrp. so what they are touting as a 40% savings is closer to 15%.

are you looking at the jackery brand? if so they are offering their own 'jackery prime day deals' on their website so if there's an issue you are dealing directly with the manufacturer-no middle man (they are also doing a price match guarantee).
