Amazon Prime $72 offer- Saturday

I just gifted myself prime for 11/11. The day after my current membership would renew. Does anyone know how to make sure that my current membership doesn't auto renew?

I want to do this and I want to do it right, help me! Our current prime is set to auto renew on 2/5. If I gift myself a membership to start on 2/4 (so the membership never lapses), how to do I then cancel the auto-renew without canceling the prime altogether? Does that make sense? There doesn't seem to be a way to stop the auto-renew or stop the prime as of a certain date when I look into managing my membership, there is only a way to end prime right now.

Just gift yourself today and have the gift sent two days prior to your current subscription ending. Your gift subscription should kick in when the other ends, hopefully and you will not see your CC hit for a renewal. IF, if you are charged a phone call to amazon customer service will easily get the charge reversed. They will have to honor the gift they allowed you to purchase/set-up today.

Hint: In regard to amazon customer service... When you get you call back from amazon.com customer service tell the caller you wish to only speak with someone in the USA. They will transfer/hand off the call to a USA rep. USA reps are always easier to deal with it seems.

Why would you gift the day after. 8-) You should have said a day or two before. Too late now....

Well your Prime will be automatically renewed on 11/11 and your CC charged... when charged give a phone call to amazon customer service and easily get the charge reversed. They will have to honor the gift they allowed you to purchase/set-up today.

thanks for the tip/instructions. I gifted myself Prime for May when my membership expires. Had almost enough Chase Rewards points to cover the cost!

I could be wrong, but does it really matter what date you "gift" it to yourself when ordering? I would think what matters is when you choose to activate the membership. The gift email I got has a button that says "Start Enjoying Prime" and it also has a link that says "Already a Member of Prime?". I will wait to click through that button/link until my free trial month of prime is up. I just signed up last week when I finally tried out my fire stick.

In any event, I'm pretty stoked! I was going to take a few months off after my trial and sign up again when my boyfriend's membership expired, but with the savings, I will start without delay because I'm liking the content. I've been a cord-cutter for the last 6 months or so and Netflix's content is getting a bit stale for me. As a bonus, my membership is paid for by gift cards earned through my employers wellness plan! I had just enough to pay for a years membership, but now I can use the extra gift card money on other needs.

I know some folks question this board turning into more of an every day savings board, but I like it. When something like this comes around, I appreciate it immensely. I've got some really super tips here. I've even one-upped my super-saver boyfriend a few times with info from this board.

Thanks so much for posting this. I gifted myself for the beginning of November when my Prime expires. Even more savings paying with an Amazon gift card. :cool1:

can I ask what your employers wellness plan is? Mine is Vitality and I love the Amazon gift cards. I am using a Dell laptop that I got FREE with those wellness rewards.

I too love all the budget tips I've learned here and am glad its not just for Disney Budget ideas. Of course the more we save on other things the more we have for WDW!

Yes, it is Vitality! This past year was our first full year on the program. My points were accumulated through my health screen, filling out health reviews, doing some of the education modules and some infrequent exercise.

My boyfriend goes to on-site events and uses his FitBit and accumulates a ton of points. The snot face has already reached gold status for the year!

Forget any gift email/link amazon gave you. TODAY, 1/24/15 not tomorrow, etc.. you should sign in to your amazon account and search "Prime". Up will pop up Prime for $72.00. Buy .... $72 Prime, gifting it to the email address you are presently signing into amazon with. During the purchasing process you will be asked when to send the gift. DO send the gift 2 days prior (BEFORE) your current free PRIME month ends. When your free Prime month ends your gift subscription ...... $72/ year Prime will begin. pixiedust:

We are 1/2 way through our third year. First year I was Gold, last 2 Platinum. save alot on my health insurance with that status. After I figured out all the hidden points it was easier to get to Platinum. Fitbit does not earn you much but see if you can sign up for a "healthy habit". 5 points everyday and you just log in an say you did it. Mine is walk 20 minutes per day. did my first 5K walk last year because of Vitality.

Just did this for my husband's account. His Prime was set to expire in two weeks. Great deal!

Just signed up, and pretty disappointed in the free movies/tv shows and music available. Anyone have any recommendations?
