Just found out last week that I'm having twins. :scared1:

So I need to put my stocking up of diapers in high gear!! I had been doing coupons + store sales, but a couple people recommended Amazon's Subscribe & Save + Amazon Mom.

I went and checked it out and you can't sign-up for Amazon Mom right now. There was a message that said you could put your email on a waitlist to be notified when registration opened again, which I did.

I'm just curious if anyone knows how long new registration has been closed for... has it been that way for the past year so I should just give it up or is there a chance that it'll be open again before my two arrive in June??

wow, I've never heard of this wait list. I would say it's probably got to do with the holidays maybe? I know many people use Amazon Mom just for free shipping on everything they buy from Amazon so maybe they are trying to weed out the Holiday shoppers?
I signed up last February and did not have to be waitlisted.

We just signed up for a new account like 2 weeks ago. Weird that its closed now, but the previous poster makes a good point about the holidays!

Don't forget that the Subscribe and Save is only 20% now rather than 30%. I get better deals with coupons at most other stores (Target, Walmart, etc).

Congratulations on the new additions!!! I spent soooo much time pricing out diapers in the 2.5 years our DD was in them. The best deal I found was at Toys R Us when they had their "buy 2 value packs of Huggies, get a $15 gift card" deals. We used Huggies Supreme, which are pretty expensive. I would go in during the deal with a coupon for each box, get the gift card and then when they had the deal again, I'd use the gift card to apply to that next purchase. It really can seem like a job trying to find the best deals.

If you're using brand name diapers, have a family member sign up on their website to get coupons so they can give them to you.

Oh and a word of caution about stocking up. Every little one is different when it comes to what diapers work for them. Our DD leaked out of every single Pampers diaper we put on her. We tried different sizes as she grew, but they just didn't work for her. The only diapers she did not leak out of were Huggies Supreme. Had we stocked up on Pampers, we would have been in trouble

Congratulations on the twins! My twin boys are now 4, and it was a lot of work! I found that Babies R Us or Toys R Us had the best prices on diapers. I was fortunate to have already had a daughter (who was 5 when they were born), so I was not a "new" Mom, which made handling a baby easier (she was NO HELP WHAT SO EVER- but that's another story!). However, you only have 2 hands, so enlist help now! I was terrified that they BOTH would cry at the same time, want to eat at the SAME time, and need changning at the same time. Luckily, one was more patient that the other, and could wait a bit. You will probably find out who is more patient, and go with what works!
Good luck on a healthy pregnancy.

I totally agree, except my daughter is opposite. A huggies does not work at all, it will leak every time on her tushy. A pampers is the only diaper I can get to work.

I use Amazon mom and find it to be the best prices. When she was in smaller diapers I could do better on a cost per diaper at the stores with coupons, but as the packages have less diapers in them Amazon has become my go to location. I love that the break it out to a cost per diaper.

In my area toys r us is not a good value or if they have a good sale they are wiped out the first hour of the sale. I can't drive there with the baby at 7 am to save 2 cents per diaper, if they have them at all.....not when the UPS man drops them on my porch.

I was just going to say the same thing about stocking up. We were the opposite. My daughter leaked thru Huggies and had very few issues with Pampers. We were given a package at our shower and I was given part of a package a friend's baby had outgrown.

I've also never heard about the Amazon Mom wait list! I am a member and I just signed up my husband because we used up my year of Prime membership for free and watned anotehr free year thru DH.

No advise - just a big congratulations. Twins are great, my boys are 11 now.

Not to hijack - but my Amazon Mom membership expired and I would love to get my hubby signed up. Does he have to have a whole new Amazon account or just sign him up for Amazon Mom? Thanks

I can't help with Amazon Mom advice but as a mom with twins I suggest hinting very heavily to whoever is throwing your shower that you'd like a diaper party. My sister did this for me and we didn't have to buy diapers until they were almost 6 months old. Diapers were "admission" and whoever brought the most won the door prize. (very nice set of candles) I will also agree that the best deal overall for diapers was at Babies/Toys R Us. They have the giant boxes and are less per diaper then anywhere else.

Congrats and good luck!:goodvibes

eta: On the stocking up issue, I never had a problem exchanging for what we used.

I would think he needs a separate account. We each have our own account. It's how he does most of his shopping, if we shared I'd always know what I was getting for Christmas LOL

Amazon mom will reopen jan. Many people sign up during the holidays to get the free shipping hence they close registrations now.

I somehow got on a new mom mailing list and get coupons for diapers and formula. Maybe you can sign up on manufacturer's websites and such for coupons. Hadn't heard of Amazon Mom. My baby's due in May. I'll have to check that after New Years.

I see you are in NE Ohio. Best prices I find for diapers are at Walgreens and Giant Eagle with coupons! Congrats by the way!

Congratulations on the twins! I have twins too and they are turning 13 this year...time goes by so fast.
I would suggest you contact the manufacturers of the products you want to buy, such as diapers, etc. and tell them you are having twins. They might not send you free diapers, but you can ask for discount coupons.:cutie:

Congrats on the twins!
And just my opinion (to match your friends) I LOVE Amazon's subscribe and save. I still get 30% - don't know if that changed for people who have signed up more recently - but I know my most recent shipment (this past week) was still at 30%. You can't beat it at the store even with good coupons. At least I couldn't find a better deal. I coupon - but I am not an extreme couponer so that might make a difference. The other best deal I found (was as a PP suggested) to do the buy 2 and get the $15 gift card at TRU AND use two coupons when you buy those two boxes. BUT still, even with that, I found I couldn't beat the amount per diaper that I get with Amazon S&S. I even get wipes and my diaper genie refills thru the program. Again, best price I have found and as an added bonus I don't have to lug the big diaper box thru the store. It shows up on my doorstep. I'd def sign up once the "hold" is removed. (IF you ever see a fantastic deal somewhere else, you can always take advantage of it and skip your Amazon shipment for the month or whatever.)
Congratulations again. How exciting!!

So with everyone saying that babies r us has the best deal it got me thinking....I have two kids and a third on the way and I have always got our diapers from Costco.....is babies r us better than costco? Iusually spend $40-45 on a case of around 200 depending on the size....some times more some times less.

Im just curious for the next baby. And also if you keep your recipets than exchanging any ones you stocked up on is easy.

It really depends on which brand and type of diaper you end up using. We have a Sam's Club membership. They don't carry Huggies Supreme, which is what we used.

Thanks for all the great advice. Since I have to wait to sign up for Amazon Mom anyways, I'll keep track of what deals I'm able to get in stores and see if I can reliably get more than 20% off when combining coupons & sales (Amazon Mom is only 20% off now, I guess).

Re: stocking up. We stocked up with DD, though not to the extent I'd like to for these two, and I had no problems exchanging brands I didn't like and sizes that I didn't need at our local Walmart. :goodvibes

Re: a "diaper shower" -- man, I WISH!! But these are my second and third & I had a wonderful shower for my oldest with lots of generous friends & family. So I think I'm on my own for these. :)
