Well, telling kids Santa is an *** is really harsh. I would have freaked if I hadn't had anything bought before Dec.14. I would go to Walmart and get some things before I would tell kids that, Geez!
I have gotten everything I ordered from Amazon and really quick, couldn't be happier with them. I wasn't too worried because most of it is Birthday gifts because I had Christmas pretty much finished.
I know it's harsh but when you're feeling defeated like that, negativity tends to set in. That was DH's comment not mine. That and he kept saying over and over again "Geez, if I ever treated a customer like that (on hold for 20 minutes at a time, no real answers or solutions, etc....) I'd be fired (He's a manager at a retail store).
I'm not thrilled about not ordering til December 14 but we've had a few financial setbacks this year, like DH having an eye emergency this fall that cost us over $1000 in copays and prescriptions. Usually I like to be done by now but I had to wait til we had cash in hand to shop. I guess trying to be responsible came back to bite us this time.
As for just running out and buying replacement gifts, I will be going out to buy a few more things but like I said, money is tight so I can't completely re-do everything. We don't use credit cards after getting ourselves into lots of trouble with them when we were younger.
ETA-I also normally would try to not put all my eggs in one basket like this but my dollars stretched so much farther with these deals than they would have otherwise. Oh well, hopefully next year will be better with no financial/medical setbacks and I will be able to be done earlier and stress less

I called, and the girl on the phone, while very pleasant, couldn't really figure out what happened. She said for some reason my account had been deleted, and it seemed to be a computer error. Yeah, it's easy enough to start a new account, but I PAID for Amazon Prime a few months ago! She said she put in something for my account to be reinstated, but it would take 48 hours. She even walked me through starting a new account, placing my order with regular shipping (12/17), said it was the last day to order and pay for regular shipping and still get it in time for Christmas. Once I had an order number, she refunded me the shipping costs immediately. Great, except with Amazon Prime I could have chosen faster shipping. Well, it's 12/23, and the tracking still says "arrived at shipping facility". So, it looks like it won't be here for Christmas, and Amazon has changed the estimated date of arrival to be 12/27.
This is for 2 DS games that are easy to find in the stores, so I'm really wishing I hadn't placed this order.
WOW!! I would have not been happy with that...but I am surprised to hear they did that...I ordered a Bratz Ice Cream Maker thing for my DD, when I got home from work it was on the doorstep wrapped up in a huge white bag, with black inside and taped up...when I opened it the other night to wrap I figured out they obviously couldn't fit it in a box, so since it was in the brown box from the manufacturer which told you what was in the box, they wrapped it in the bag so if my DD could read she wouldn't see it. Guess it must depend on who got the order.
