The tv I "think" I want is on sale BF at two different stores. The reason I only think I want it is I haven't been able to actually see it yet; neither store has it on display. I just noticed that Amazon dropped its price on this model to match the BF ads. I would save $20 in sales tax by ordering through Amazon. BUT--it is obviously an expensive item. Do they just leave big items, or would I have to be home to sign for it? And, what if I need to return it? It must be heavy, so I imagine return shipping would cost a bundle. I have ordered from amazon before, but I have never had to return anything.

When I bought my 46" TV through Amazon, they actually had 2 guys deliver it. They came in, unwrapped it, and set it up on the TV stand for me. I had to sign that it wasn't damaged. It was a great deal, we saved over $200 versus Sears or anywhere else that had it.

If the only difference is in the sales tax (which you're technically supposed to voluntarily pay in as use tax), I'd buy locally.

We got our TV through Amazon, and the savings was about $500 over the next-lowest local price. They ship to a local company, who arranges delivery. I was really happy with both the service and the TV.
