I can't believe its almost been a week that I've been back already!

I just have to post to say how amazing WL is.

The only thing I have to say is that the last night (I assume from watching the electrical water pagaent) I was bitten up like crazy. My DBF said they were spider bites. Big red and itchy, but it didn't at all ruin my time. It was however a little cold getting off the plane the next night in NY wearing flip flops (shoes proved to make those things itchier)

If anyone has any questions I would love to answer them, maybe relive a little bit of my AMAZING trip! oh i'm getting misty eyed!

Did you rub Humphrey's nose on your way to check-in? My DS and I are convinced that that is the way to have a magical vacation at the WL. When I went in Feb., I did. And, I had a very magical vacation.

So, I was just wondering...

Glad to read you had a good time at WL. It's our favorite resort as well. Come visit us on the WL FAQ thread when you all have some time. We'd love to have you aboard. :)

We just got back from staying at WL. First time going to Disney as a guest. (I was on CP in "92") We loved it. We had split our trip betweem WL and CBR. We tried to change it to all WL, but they were all booked. And we really did not like CBR. Oh well, we are heading back to WL in Feb. A friend is getting married at the Grand Floridian. Can't wait!!

We are goingto WL for the first time next month and we can't wait. Everytime I here another great review I get that much more excited.

We were there 12/4-12/10 and it was wonderful! It was our first time to WL but will not be the last! I also got bitten up at WL. I woke up one morning with bites ALL over my legs. I had to go buy some $4.00 anti-itch cream at the mercantile so I could manage the rest of the trip. It was really uncomfortable! Glad you had a great time! :daisy:

Where exactly would I find Humphrey's nose? (Obviously, on Humphrey's face...duh. I guess I should ask where to find Humphrey, lol.) TIA

Who the heck is Humphrey? I'd want to know before I attempt any nose-rubbing, which could possibly get one into trouble if the wrong Humphrey's nose is rubbed.

My wife and two children (12 and 6) will be staying at WL Lodge May 8-13. We have talked about staying concierge if we can apply the codes (if and when they come out). We just need a little nudge to get us to commit to concierge level, any tips or info on WL Concierge will be most welcome. Thanks, MarkGrands

We stayed at WL for our first time in October and fell in love with it also. We got bit a little watching the parade but not as bad as you. I can't wait to stay there next Christmas.

Here's one more family who had someone bit up on the balconies. My DW got some HUGE red spots on her legs and we had to go inside.

Hi, we stayed at WL Nov 30-Dec 5 and when I got home I noticed I had red itchy spots on my ankels almost like in a circle around my ankels. They are getting better now. The odd thing is that I only wore jeans when I was there and we didn't spend much time down by the beach, but we were there one night and took a boat ride. The bites seem almost like "chigger bites" like we have in Tennessee.

I believe the bites everyone is mentioning are from the famous "noseeums."

I was bit at WL and VB a few years ago. We now live in Florida and know what to do to prevent the bites.

I think the real name of the bug is the biting midge. They are a member of the mosquito family and are very tiny! (that's why they are called noseeums.) You don't realize they've got you until it's too late.

We use OFF if we have to go out at night, or at sunrise or sunset. That is when they are the worst.

For me, they itch 1,000 times more than any mosquito bite. I was in tears at VB and I thought I was going to scratch my ankles raw. The only thing that worked were these medicated sticks the lifeguards gave me. You had to crack them to get the medicine to move and then rub it on the bites.

I was a little scared the first time I had the bites. I thought it came from inside the hotel room from the bed or something.

I hope the bites feel better soon. :flower1:

I'm glad you had a good time! We will be staying there 12/23- 12/26! I can't wait to go! :moped:

We checked in the morning of the 10th. We fell in love with the WL and can't wait to get back in May. Humphrey is the bear at the base of the totem pole at the entrance to the mercantile store. We did rub his nose in memory of FloridaCat, and had a magical stay!

You can find Humphrey in the lobby by the Mercantile (gift shop) He is one of 4 characters on a totem pole. You can't miss him!!!
