Team 9-1-1 from AR3 consisted of Andre the cop and Damon the firefighter. You would think being in professions that took leadership and making life and death situations that they would have showed those characteristics in the race. They were followers and followed the rest of the teams. While they were in Marrakech and lost sight of the other teams and there was no one to follow...they of course got lost and ended many many miles from where they were suppose to be. Even though they were black and in Africa the town they ended up in was very leary of them because they were strangers and the law there was going to detain them. AR producers DID have to step in when called by the cameraman to get them on their way and out of that town safely. I do believe this is when they were eliminated too.
Am I remembering correctly any other devout AR followers?
Devout AR follower reporting for duty! That's not quite the way it went. This was in Morocco. Team 911 was in first place, and had just gotten their last clue, which directed them to the pit stop. So they got a cab and told him where they needed to go.
The cab driver though, took them off into the middle of nowhere, Morocco-style. Eventually a "local official" detained them and asked for their passports. They refused, and the AR crew eventually got them released, probably by paying the official off.
They weren't eliminated at this time, though. They finished second to last, ahead of the whiny Aaron and Arianne. But they did go from being in first place to being at the very back of the pack, pretty far behind the rest. And then the next week they were eliminated in Austria, because they fell asleep in a train and missed their stop.
I can hardly blame them for the Morocco debacle. Their driver said he knew where he was going, but either didn't or was a scam artist. But how could they know? And when they did figure it out, there wasn't much they could do about it. They really were in the middle of nowhere.
You can blame them for the train OTOH, because when they woke up they were over 100 miles past their stop! I think they had just mentally given up at that point.
