I am lactose intolerant but have trouble with lactose free milk as well. Anyhoo, I just got back from a week in the world. It was great!

Our first meal was Chef Mickey's. We had the last breakfast seating and arrived late b/c of a monorial snafu (our fault). The chef came out and walked the line with me, and then made me a huge plate of scrambled eggs, potatoes, and 5 mickey waffles! I was so excited to actually have a Mickey shaped waffle I stuffed 2 in! She also brought me a divvies brownie for dessert which I saved for later (I was so full!)

We ate at Boma for an anniversary dinner and the Chef was amazingly attentive. She walked the line with me and pointed out everything safe. She also offered to make me dairy free versions of some of the meat they had, but I can't digest most animal protein so I passed. She also made me a special dessert which was yummy! I felt so relaxed knowing everything I was eating was safe for me. The curry tofu was amazing! This is the place to eat if you don't eat meat. So many selections.

I ate at several CS restaurants and the binder was always available. I had delicious Boca vegan burgers and they gave me the Ener-G rolls (all rolls have dairy in the world). Those are awful! I did eat one half though to hold the burger up. The manager often made the meal for me specifically to avoid cross contamination. Very impressive! Oh, the veggie sandwich at Backlot Express is dairy free without the cheese. YUM!!! The black bean salad is also so good and the counter service in MGMJ near the TOT has dairy free potato salad (very yummy).

We had breakfast at Crystal Palace and the chef did walk the line with me but did not really offer to make me anything. He brought me 2 gluten/dairy free frozen waffles but I was fine with that since I had already had Mickey waffles! I found plenty to eat and left happily full. The potatoes are dairy free as well as bagels.

The Chef at Le Cellier was also amazing. YUMMY! I do eat fish occasionally so he made me a delicious salmon.

Overall it was such a positive experience. I am so glad I told them I have a dairy issue instead of risking it like I usually do.

Oh, the Apple Cinnamon stuffed pretzel at Min and Bill's is dairy free but not as good as I had built it up to be in my mind. The Main street ice cream shop had vanilla and chocolate tofutti (YUMMY!) and the bake shop has a special "Allergy" section of baked goods. The brownies were delicious and no line to order!!

I'll be happy to answer any other questions. Oh, I did let them know when I made my ADR's that I have a dairy issue but it wasn't on any of my ressies. I just let them know at check in and it was fine.

This is so great to hear. I am also Lactose intolerant but not too severly...with a few lactaid pills I can usually (usually:scared: ) digest it. I am gald to hear everything was so accomadating!

I am glad you had such a good experience! My DD is allergic to dairy and I am lactose intolorant, it's great to hear to you didn't have a problem.

:goodvibes

thanks for the report. glad to hear things went well for you.

I have a daughter who is allergic to milk and peanut. I never knew until I started reading this board that the ice cream shop on main street has tofutti. Do they always have it available, or only by request?

I also didn't know that they would make dairy-free mickey waffles, my daughter will be so thrilled. Thanks for the info and glad you had a great experience!

on the menu at the Main street ice cream shop. You order at the register like everyone else, and then someone comes and asks you a bunch of questions. The Tofutti is scooped from the back to avoid cross contamination so it takes a few extra minutes. But it was so yummy!

Thanks for all the information. I leave soon with my LI niece and can't wait to see her face when she gets waffles and other treats she hasn't had for a long time.

That is so great to hear!

My DS has milk and egg allergy, and this is one of the main reasons we LOVE Disney! He enjoyed Boma as well - the chef made him some awesome salmon on a skewer of sugar cane, rice, lots of great stuff.

Disney is so good about allergies - I even remember when we were at Restaurantasaurus (sp?) in Animal Kingdom, I got my kids' both a kids' meal, but DS can't eat chicken nuggets. They gave him a huge hot dog instead, which should have cost a lot more I think. Next day, we were there again, and the same manager came over and said she remembered what we needed! She went ahead and got it ready herself in the kitchen for him! I looked at the ticket order receipt thingy on the tray - she had written it all out for them, including "change gloves" so even the gloves were new to touch his food. Wow.

I can't wait! We leave in a few days and are eating at a couple of the places you listed. (Crystal Palace and Boma) I was hoping for a Mickey Waffle, maybe at 1900 Park Fare? The tofutti and rice dream on Main Street = Yippie!!!

Thanks for sharing!
