Just thought I would let you all know in case you are looking for car rentals int he next few months. I had looked at all the matrix type sites like carrentals.com, expedia, etc and sometimes I can get great rates through my Delta Skymiles (plus points which is always a bonus) BUT I had booked our trip in May through Hotwire and got an amazing price so I thought maybe I will just take a quick peek to see what they had. Unitl then the best I could do was in the 200 range for a standard car for one week. I ended up booking a standard car, unlimited miles etc for 158 for the week and it is with Hertz which is in the MCO terminal! YAY! I always use the coverage from my own policy or credit cards for insurance so there isnt the expense of insurance in there BUT it is still so much cheaper than the best price I was able to find anywhere else. I am LOVING this Hotwire stuff! fyi...

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

That's a great rate!!! Good job!

:)

i think that is the way we are going to, we need the same, standard car, who can beat 158.00- noooooooo body LOL!!

$158 is a good rate (we got a deal under $100 last summer with Hertz but it was before they announced relocation into the terminal).

Our Hertz standard vehicle was a Toyota Corolla but the new ones are quite roomy as the counter guy pointed out. It was fine for our family of four. We were able to load 24 inch, 26 inch, 2 small carry on bags and our tandem stroller into the trunk.

That is a great deal! Wish I could use Hotwire for my Aug trip, the rentals are soooo expensive for 2 1/2 weeks. But we are doing a one way rental, picking up car in Ft. Lauderdale, and need to return it to somewhere in Disney, either Car Care or one of the DTD hotels.
If anyone has any ideas, PM me :goodvibes So far booking on Costco I have $760 for the one way with Budget :scared1:

we just went through priceline last night, we got a standard size car from hertz for 7 days for 141.00:dance3:
i was happy, it saves us a little over hotwire, it is amazing though the taxes, not that i mind which ever has the lowest bottom line is fine, but the car rental was like 77.00 for the week, and the taxes were 64.44 crazy

I have been avoiding priceline because of the fees, they seem to have really gone up lately and I was using them on a regular basis for quite a few years. I do think they are usually even cheaper than hotwire but I wanted to be sure it was "in terminal" and you can see that with hotwire. Once I got an off site car rental and it was still a great price but the shuttle to the off site took longer than I would have liked.

I just went on Hotwire to book but my dh wanted to get insurance coverage just to be sure (we have credit cards too but he prefers to get coverage by the car rental agency). I ended up calling Access America directly to inquire about their coverage and they only cover US residents!! So even if you choose insurance coverage thru Hotwire, you are not covered! CRAP!

Has anyone booked a car in the US and had coverage as a Canadian? I would love your input.

Thanks!
Lynne
