Amazing Adventures of the 2013 Disney Moms Panel Search

As I have said earlier, this was my first year applying, and I found myself looking at the multiple choice questions going, "Are they for real?" It almost felt like playing Disney Trivia or something to me. Did anyone else feel that way when answering the questions?

yes, Disney will play trivia with you on these questions. usually there is an answer that is obviously correct and the others are wrong in some small, sometimes overlooked, way. Such as Philharmonic instead of Philharmagic.

When you submitted your application, does anyone else remember reading those who make the panel will hear by or around November 12th or was I dreaming?

If that is the case, it will be interesting to see if my baby will come before or after that date. I am due November 10th. I figured I would just apply knowing the odds are against me for getting on the moms panel, but if it happens I will be doubly blessed.

Angie

I read the 11/12 date too. Going back through the site, I couldn't find it again.

I hope they count both answers as correct as well. I can see the argument for both sides - there is no pineapple in the orange and vanilla flavors, however, pineapple is an actual ingredient of one of them. Soft serve is not, technically, an ingredient.

Oh well, what's done is done. :)

The fact we are debating this answer proves we all deserve to be panelists. Lol J/K ;)
Honestly , I just went with my first gut instinct on these questions. I chose pineapple because to me that is the choice that fit best. I didn't even really read the other options.

I agree, and went with my first, "gut" choice. Of course, I debated with myself, but then went back to that first answer. Don't they always say to go with your gut feeling? :thumbsup2
As a first time applicant, I didn't know what to expect going in, but after completing it, I wanted a chance to "prove" myself more somehow in the first round...like the 100 words and a few multiple choice didn't seem enough? Is this typical for first round questions?

Has anyone else NOT received an email confirmation? I still haven't gotten one (I applied mid-day) and when I log-in it says "Our records indicate that you have already submitted an application to be a part of our panel.

Thank you once again for your time and interest in this exciting program."

Hope that doesn't mean that 1) my application was indeed submitted but for some reason instantly rejected or 2) despite what the website says my application was actually not submitted but now I can't log-in to resubmit.

I've only applied every year that the MMC has been in existence and every year I always tell myself "Self... you don't need the MMC as proof you are one bad mama-jama Disney trip planner! Self, don't fret your humidity ridden hair about it - what will be will be." But then I always end up saying "Self... quit checking for an email... quit obsessing....why isn't my Outlook opening faster....". {{sigh}}

I was thrown by two questions. The question about when you heard of Moms Panel was the first. I treated that as literally asking when I heard, which I put 2010. Seemed like there was no correct answer for the way they worded it.

For the Dole Whip question, I went with pineapple. None of them seemed right given that it isn't made with soft serve ice cream, but it isn't made with pineapple either. So I just went with pineapple. I was trying to do this over lunch break and had to put in an answer because I didn't want to miss the 14,000 applicant cut-off! Oh, well. Made Round 2 last year. We will see if I can make it that far this year. Good luck to all!

I signed in with the account that DH and I both use. Lo and behold, my email says, "Dear DH's Name," Yikes! Was there a spot where I should have put my name in there?

That exact thing happened to me the first time they searched, I emailed and called everyone I knew at Disney trying to get it fixed, finally ended up just opening a new email account and submitting myself again. But that new email address wasn't linked to any previous vacation reservations so I'm sure that didn't help my chances. Needless to say all Disney vacations have been in my name ever since. :p

If I come across a chatty CM during any of my trips to Aloha Isle at the end of this month I'll b sure to ask for his/her opinion on dolewhipgate and report back :lmao:

I wouldn't worry about the email if the site is saying you already submitted. There are people on the boards every year who do not get the email. If it says you submitted, then assume they got it.

DOLEWHIPGATE!!! LOL :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I asked my DH and my kids, they all voted pineapple from the choices given but my 11 year old suggested SUGAR would be the most important ingredient. ;)

Maybe you were logged into a different Disney account than the e-mail that you are checking. It would have been sent to that e-mail address.

I've applied every year also, at least this year I'll be able to distract myself with some Disney while I wait. I still have to plan and pack and sew.

Ignore me. I should have read the entire thread before wigging about DoleWhip. Dur. As for the e-mail, I think I can redeem mysel by being helpful. It looks like the e-mail you get is essentially a screen shot of your submission confirmation page. So...it's talking about itself. =) You only need one.

Hi again all...

Year 5 application done! This Dis Dad made it to Round 2 last year, who knows this year. I went for DVC last year but have only stayed at DVC resorts so stayed away from that this year. Went for WDW but know that I am in with a ton of other people. Oh well, it is always fun to dream.

BTW, Pineapple must be the right answer! :)

Just submitted my application for the Walt Disney World panel. I don't know if I feel relieved that it is out of my hands or anxious that I did not double check my responses for the multiple choice enough times to make sure that I absolutely selected the answers I wanted. Here's hoping!
