Are the morning extra magic hours at Magic Kingdom worth it to go and then park hop after? Are there cast members scanning bands on every ride? Last time we did the PM EMH at MK the lines were long just to wait for the cast members to scan bands...

Great question. I do not know the answer with 100% accuracy. I wondered about this as well. I think on the WDW site, from my limited research on the subject, the best info I got was, "offsite guests may stay inside the park, but they are not permitted to experience attractions" but that was for evening EMH. What I experienced for AM EMH, at both HS and EP however, was this:

It appeared as though offsite guests were not allowed into the park. I didn't stick around and make SURE, but at both parks, I saw one person trying to get the green light at the tapstyle, but being denied. After a few tries, the cm then politely asked if they were staying at a Disney property, and started into an explanation of the EMH. Again, I didn't stick around and watch/listen to make 100% sure, so take this with a grain of salt. Not sure if it's explained fully on the Dis site.

1. No. That's only for PM EMH.
They screen out non-WDW Resort guests for AM EMH,
so there's no need to scan anything at the attraction entrances.
2. That is an unusual situation you describe.
While they DO scan MBs for PM EMH, it usually does not add much wait-time at all.

A. Correct.
B. Correct.
C. It is described in various places on this board and on many other fan sites.

I personally love AM EMH at every park because you can really get a lot done in that hour.
Personally I don't like to park hop after being there for that little amount of time though.
I'd consider park hopping after the crowds start picking up more which is generally after the park has been open for about 2 hours.
So that would give me at least 3 hours in the park.

Your band is scanned prior to entering the park with AM EMH not at every attraction like PM EMH.
Once you're in the park they know that you are a resort guest where as at night everyone is allowed to exit the park at their own pace so they need to be sure that you are a resort guest and not an offsite guest.
