Am I wasting my fast passes on these MK rides?

Just got my fast passes at midnight last night and think I did I pretty well. We're doing Space Mountain, Pirates, and Thunder Mountain one day. Our next MK day is 7DMT, Small world, and Haunted Mansion. Those are all our "must sees" but wondering if stand by times are prett reasonable for HM, Small World, and Pirates without the fast passes. We used to get on those within 15 minutes or so, but not sure if fast pass plus has changed things. We'll be there in November, so crowds should be average (by Disney standards!)

This kind of information is explained in the FP+ thread found HERE. Read post #1 and #2 for FP+ recommendations and timing advice.

I found the thread that Robo posted super helpful when doing my planning. My two cents is to pick something besides Small World for your FP. Even if it's a must-do, you are better off using the FP for a ride that has longer wait times and doing standby on Small World.

I would not take it for Small World, Hanted Mansion or POC..those are pretty easy to grap at a 4 FP if the waiting become really busy

With moderate crowds I would switch the Small World FP and possibly Pirates and go stand by. If you have any interest in Peter Pan use a FP for that because that line gets long any time of the year. The only bummer with using a FP for Haunted Mansion is that you by pass the interactive elements in the line, which are pretty cool (same goes for Peter Pan though).

Dont know what are you dates..but peterpan is close from november 2 to november 8 so iFP is really a good use for this one

Another vote for switching out Small World to something else...are you doing Splash at all? That's always super-popular when it's up and running...unless you get a morning ride in..I'd FP that one.

I would also swap out the Small World FP for Peter Pan if you have any interest in riding PP. If you really want to see the interactive queue for PP go right at rope drop, although I personally didn't find it worth the rushing there just to avoid a line. Small World waits are usually pretty low, especially early in the morning or at night.

I'm guessing you don't have any interest in character greetings, but if you do any of the princesses or Talking Mickey would be a better use of your FP+ than IASW, HM, or POC.

I agree with PP about Splash Mountain and Peter Pan. Do you have any interest in the Buzz Lightyear ride? I feel like that line gets long and I love going on it! I'd drop Small World and even Pirates...I don't recall waiting too long for those.

I'd personally keep the Pirates FP+. the lines were quite long last November (but it was breaking down quite a bit so not sure if this will remain true). I'd switch out small world for splash, meeting princesses or another ride on Space/Thunder. HM is really a toss up IMHO. it's not a headliner but it's not short lines either unless you get lucky.

This was my thought exactly. We had no problem adding these as additional FP, and usually we were able to choose FP times that started almost immediately.

That's the problem with the Fast Pass+ system. If you don't use it for the rides that have really long lines (the "mountains", Peter pan, Princess Fairytale Hall), it feels you are "wasting" them.

On my last trip I "wasted" half of my fast passes. Three of the Fast Passes I got were walk-ons due to low crowd levels and time of day I had the Fast Pass for: Disney Junior, Star Tours and Enchanted Tales. But I didn't really care, as I was planning on going on those rides anyway. And with Toddlers we weren't going on any of the "big" rides anyway. I just wish I would have known those standby lines would be so short and I would have gotten other Fast Passes. But since I (purposely) scheduled the fast passes to all be done by noon, I didn't feel like I wasted anything as I could get a 4th fast pass for about anything but the "big" rides (TSMM, SDMT).

If I had a wide open day at MK (and was going by myself (no kids)) .. I would get Fast Passes for:
Space Mountain,
BTMRR
Seven Dwarves
And then get a 4th FP (if possible) for Splash Mountain.

I enjoy Peter Pan .. but I don't understand why that line is so regularly long compared to Little Mermaid, Buzz Lightyear, Winnie the Pooh, Haunted Mansion or other similar rides (constantly moving/loading dark rides).

I've fast passed it on my last two visits and have missed the new interactions in the standby queue, but I wasn't going to wait 60-70 minutes (on a slow park day) for that very short ride just to see the new queue.

We were there just a few weeks ago and picked up Haunted Mansion as our 6th FP+ of the day. It was for about 9:30 pm. We arrived at the entrance at the same time as another family that went through the standby line. They actually beat us to the door as we had to stop and scan twice and there was nobody in line. We were the only two groups in the stretching room.

We watched Wishes next then rode 7 Dwarfs with about a 10 minute wait, Peter Pan with a 1 minute wait, then Space Mountain 4 times in just over 30 minutes.

My point is that the lines can get really short in the evening and no FP+ is required. Keep this in mind if you want to reride the headlines with little to no wait.

Capacity, capacity, capacity. Pan is not a people-eating omnimover like the others (except Pooh, which also tends to be longer in waits).

So fast pass Peter Pan and hope for a short line to enjoy interactive stuff and Pooh? FP? Do not wanna miss the garden area and stuff but do not wanna wait all day to go through the 100 acre woods lol

A Pan FP will usually save you more time than a Pooh FP. Both skip the queues with the interactive features.

When we were there last November we hopped from HS in the morning to MK. By 1 PM we could not get any FP+ for the rides you mentioned so if they are "Musts" then I would keep your FP+. POC was breaking down quite a bit and was one of our longest waits as well as Space, Haunted, and Jungle Cruise. The only one I might reconsider would be Small World but we have waited for that one before too. Not sure if you are doing RD at all but that is also another great way to get in several of your favorites as well. We have always lucked out with Buzz by just waiting until the wait time goes down as it seems to drop down during different parts of the day.

It was a weekend and going into Jersey week so the park was pretty crowded but not horrible.
