The ddp only gives you two meals? What about people that need three meals for medical reasons, I get that paying one Mel oop is better then paying for all three, but is it worth it.

The DDP is worth it to me only if its free. I don't think I'd ever eat that much food at Disney.

The Deluxe Dining Plan allows for 3 meals a day.

Any plan is only worth it if it suits the guest's eating habits. So that opinion is going to vary from person to person. For us, the plan costs more than what we pay out of pocket so we don't get it. For other people, it's a great savings. I believe there's a spreadsheet floating around here that will help you determine if the plan is cost effective. Hopefully, someone will link it for you.

The value is different for everyone. Some people save money. Some people only eat 2 meals. It just varies too much depending on the person and when/where they eat.

I just want to clarify that there are several dining plans which have different costs: Deluxe Dining Plan allows for three meals a day, the Plus Dining Plan (probably most common), and the Quick Service Dining Plan.

This link will explain the entitlements & costs: Dining Plan Info

Op, depending on how much you eat, the snack credit can get you a meal sized snack.

Ted Nugent is an idiot. Sent from my IPad using DisBoards.

The dining plans aren't meant for everyone. If it fit's your dining habits or needs then it is something to consider. If you require 3 full meals daily you could look into the Deluxe Plan since it gives you 3 dining credits per day, but it is a lot of food and a much more expensive plan. If you need food 3 times a day, but not necessarily 3 full meals, there are some snacks that are fairly substantial for which you could use snack credits.

1. The dining plans tend to be horrible values for most people.
2. Many breakfasts are a snack credit.
3. Portions are big, allowing for meal sharing, and thus 3 meals.

Thanks everyone, just to be clear I am not obsessed with food but it is of extreme importance for me to take my medication and function like everyone else and I am normal size I am 5ft 114 pounds size 2 but were bigger size close. But back on topic I got obsessed with the dinning plan when I saw it was free but I would have to stay at the grand Floridian or something to get my medical needs meet.

IMO it is NOT too much food and a great value. We simply brought zip lock bags and brought what we didn't finish for a snack later (as long as it hadn't been out too long). If you are getting the free dining plan you should be able to upgrade to another type for a fee (the difference in price of the plan, when we went we had the free quick service dining plan and I upgraded us to the regular).

We were also able to use the snack credit as a meal in some places. For example in Epcot at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie you can get a ham and cheese croissant for a snack credit. We simply bought a drink separately and that was lunch for the day.

If you can't eat whatever you want when on vacation, when can you?

If you need three full meals per day for medical reasons, the options would be to 1) get the deluxe dining plan (you can upgrade your free dining to the deluxe plan by paying the difference) and use each credit for one meal - meaning you will probably not have the option of doing any 2 credit restaurants, or 2) purchase an extra meal out of pocket. Or just don't get the dining plan if it is not going to work for you, and purchase the meals you want, where and when you want them.

If you are asking whether or not WDW will change the dining plans to customize them for medical reasons, they will not.

There is no worries about eating three meals a day. Most people do it and it doesn't depend on their size. :goodvibes

Another option for you would be to have a granola bar and yogurt or something similar in your room for breakfast. If the fridges aren't back when you travel there are still lots of options. I think a lot of people take this option.

My family's plan is to share one child's meal and one adult meal at breakfast. The breakfast platters are large and two of us are light breakfast eaters. We will share two adult meals at lunch. Have snacks as early as we need them. And use individual credits for dinner. I'll probably have some other snacks in the room or in the backpack just in case.

Best of luck and have a great trip!

What I would personally do if I needed to eat 3 full meals daily is buy the regular DP for lunches and dinners, and then buy CS breakfasts OOP at my resort.

DxDP does give you appetizers at lunch and dinner, so depending on how much you eat at each meal, that might influence the decision too.

I was worried about the same thing because I am a BIG eater! However, last time I went, I had the regular dining plan & was satisfied all day long. Most of the time, I used the quick service meal for breakfast & was fairly full for most of the day. I used the snack credit later in the day, & typically had dinner a tad early. We also purchased a small box of pastries (out of pocket) & ended up eating some for breakfast & using the quick service for lunch.:cool1:

I like your idea
