SO there are six of us. Me, Hubby, two kids and my in-laws.

IF we get connecting cat 6's, we would be paying (for example), $3000 x 2 (Two doubles) not a double (3000) + a quad (5000). Someone said I would pay the price of two doubles if connecting. Is this right??

No, you would pay for a double and a quad. The rate for the 3rd & 4th passengers in a room is considerable lower that the 1st 2.

3rd & 4th lower?? I'm still not getting it. So given the pricing example i gave above, what would we pay?

tstobb is correct. You will pay full fare for the first two people in any stateroom. After that the fare(s) for the 3rd & 4th (or 5th, 6th & 7th if you book a Cat. 1 or 2) are lower. Also remember that the rates will vary depending on the time of year you will be cruising. I know from one of your other posts that you want to cruise during Easter week and the rates will definitely be higher at that time. However, Cat. 1 and 2 staterooms book quickly and there are waitlists for them so it is quite possible that you wouldn't be able to get one unless someone cancels. The following is only an example if you book two Cat. 6 staterooms, your fare(s) would be as follows. I got these rates from the 2002-2004 DCL brochure -- remember this is only an example!:

Stateroom #1: you ($2,599), dh ($2,599), child #1 ($1,199) & child #2 ($1,199) Total for Stateroom #1 would be $7,398.

Stateroom #2: FIL ($2,599) & MIL ($2,599) Total for Stateroom #2 would be $5,198. This would be a Grand Total of $12,596 for two Cat. 6 staterooms. As HappyLawyer said you may want to check Cat. 1 or 2 rates. HTH

You can also check out a cat 6 with a cat 11 across the hall, instead of a 2nd connecting cat 6.

What time of year were you pricing me out for that? I didn't think a Cat 2 held 6 people. What would the price for that be at the same time of year you priced the other out?

BTY, I think we are going to haveto make it an off season time.

Cat 1 and 2 hold up to 7 people.

I would recommend that you go to disneycruise.com and play around with dates and rates. You won't be able to get the Cat 1-3 pricing, but you can for all others.

Lower costs are going to be Late August through early December. Holidays. and summer are much higher due to demand.

The CAT 2 has a queen bed in the master, and the second BR has a queen bed, plus two drop-down twin bunks. There's also the couch in the living room that is convertible, so one of the children could sleep there.

Cat...1-3 sound GREAT...but the prices are also WAY up there. I think they end up running quite a bit more than two lower cat rooms...like the two cat 6's that you were asking for.

The Cat. 2 has a queen in the master. The second bedroom however has two twin beds (can be converted into a queen) and only one drop down bunk. The sofa in the living room converts to sofa bed but in my opinion would not sleep two adults well. It would be good for two children. HTH

The pricing I put down was, as I said, from the 2002-2004 DCL brochure. This was only to give you a ballpark estimate. A Cat. 2 can run, depending on the time of year and which itinerary, from $9,000 to $13,000 for a 7-day cruise. HTH

What cruise are you taking? We did this in Oct '04 two cat 6's 3 people in each room (plenty of space) on a Western Carribean and our total was about $3100.00 for each stateroom. It worked out great.
