Am I understanding Fast Pass right?

O.K. from my research, I think I understand the fastpass system goes as follows:

Say I arrive to MK at opening (not EMH, just general opening, 9:00 a.m.) and I go get a FP for Peter Pan's Flights... It says FP time is between 10 a.m. - noon.. So I then go & ride Dumbo, come back & it's 10:00 a.m. so I use my fastpass for Peter Pan, I can then go obtain another fast pass? Or do I have to wait until 11 a.m., 2 hours after receiving my 1st fast pass??

THANKS, I just don't want to screw this treasure up! :earboy2:

no once you use it you can get another and it says( or at least used to who knows now) when you can get another on the bottom of the first. depending on how busy it is though fp may not be open when you get there, only once the crowds start to build.we rarely use them in Jan( like maybe once or twice a trip, just no need)

should have said "yes you understand it", the "no" is for no you don't have to wait to get another for 2 hrs.

each fastpass will have a time listed on it that states what time you can get another fastpass.

Sometimes it 2 hours away, sometimes it's shorter. Just check your fastpass.

You don't have to have actually used the FP to obtain a new one. In fact on the fast pass ticket itself it states the earliest time you can get another FP regardless of use of the current/prior FP's.

It is a great system and not that complicated to use, unfortunately it is kind of difficult to explain. The FP machines willl tell you when the return times are so you can decide if the times work for you. If you have any questions at all CM's are at all the FP Kiosks - ask them!

I have also read that Fastpasses, technically, do not expire. So if you have a Fastpass for SM and your window is 10-11:00 a.m., but you are in Adventureland between 10-11:00 a.m., you do not need to rush over to Tomorrowland. You can use it anytime after 10:00 a.m.

I have also read from previous threads, to really pay attention to the time on the bottom of the Fastpass that lets you know when you can obtain another Fastpass for a different ride. On one of these threads a poster claimed to hold Fastpasses for three different rides at one time.

As I said, I am not speaking from experience, only reporting what I have read. Best of luck to you and me both! ::MinnieMo

mom22boys you are right...not sure if you could use them another day, but you can use them any later time that day

Actually having experienced the denial of an expired FP I advise people not to use this as a strategy.

Due to a seating snaffu at the sci fi my dd's and I were about 15 minutes late for our return time at Star Tours. We - a party of three, mom and dd's 7 and 9 were not permited to use our expired FP's and in fact they were taken by the CM so as not to give us the opportunity later.

I have read where people have been able to do such a thing but having experience the other extreme I urge caution on counting on this. I hate to see little ones dissapointed so my advice is if you want to ride it and have a FP just return in the window and no worries. HTH

I agree with TJ... just because some CMs let some people in with expired FPs doesn't mean that it's Disney's policy as a rule.

I've seen people turned down because of expired FPs and it's not a pretty sight to see... arguing with the CM, blocking the FP entrance, yelling, screaming. Just not pretty.

It's easy enough to determine whether you can use FPs or not. Before getting an FP, look at the FP return times. If you think you can make it, great.. get an FP. If you don't think you'll make it because you're stuck in a parade or you're at dinner... then don't get an FP.

It's really not that difficult.

And then again when we were just there we were in the Fastpass lane for Kali and when we got to the CM who took the fastpasses asked the people in front of us for their pass they didn't have one and he just let them go!! I was appalled!! But what can I do. I of course didn't say anything.

TECHINCALLY, FastPasses DO expire. But since FastPass returns are manned by people and not by robots, there will be times when some CMs take it upon themselves to break the rules and allow guests with expired FastPasses to enter.

Depending on crowds, they might not issue FPs first thing upon opening. If they do, the first return time usually would be 45 - 90 minutes after opening.

On your FP will be three times - the time it was issued, the time "window" that you can return and lastly the time when you can get your next FP. When FPs first started you were able to get your next one only after using the first or two hours later. Now they actually tell you when you can get your next one. This time varies, I know LMA at MGM allows you to get another immediately.

Hope that helps and do use them!

I know that in your question you were asking about mornings. But, something to keep in mind for the end of the day....Some of the popular rides will close the FP at the end of the day because they have given out enough to last the rest of the evening.

For example, Test Track might close at 7:00 (or whatever time they close). Depending on time of year and crowds, if you don't have a fast pass by 5:00 you might not get one. Then you just need to stand in line if you want to ride.

Before I got my FastPasses (August 2005), I would always look
over the shoulder of the people in front of me to see when their
tickets said you were eligible to get another FP. I probably would
just ask them if I couldn't see, but it was always easy to see.
It's at the very bottom of the pass.

The one-hour return window for your pass is clearly posted, so
you can check it before getting your FPs. I'm saying, if it matters
to you when you can get your next one, take a peek at freshly
issued FPs of those in front of you.

If I remember correctly, when we were there in July, it seemed that on every FP we got, the time when you could get a new FP was 10 minutes after the return time. For example, it would say return time 10:00-11:00, can get another FP at 10:10. So we would wait until 10:10, get a FP for another ride (or same ride) and then use the first FP. Saved a little time now and then.

This is still true for the most part except when your FP return time is hours away in that case the time you have to wait before getting an new FP is usually 2 hours from the time you got the FP with the long wait. On a busy day at Epcot TT can be giving out FP's at 10am with a return time of 5-6pm. In that case you would not have to wait until 5:10 but usually 12pm.

In some cases you can get a FP before your return time or even immediately depending on the attraction and crowd flow.

Best bet is to check the return time prior to inserting your park ticket and remember the max time you will have to wait for another is 2 hours.

There are always CM's at the machines so don't hesitate to ask questions if you have them.
