who doesnt mind the new multigrain buns at Disney?

We went in december and we had the buns at Cosmic Rays, Caseys Corner, plus a few other places and we had no problems with them. They did not fall apart, they did not taste stale, etc.

I really couldnt figure out what all the complaints were about.

There were 5 of us and none of us had problems with the buns. Are we the only ones?

I hope that something great happened to those buns.....we would get a burger and then put some toppings on it and we had a hard time eating them because the buns were falling apart.......
Any others saying that they are good again......I only can wish...

They didn't bother us either. IMO - the criticism seemed a little overblown. I think many folks just don't like the idea of a change being imposed upon them. Maybe I'm among the few, but I see almost any affort Disney makes to improve the healthiness of it's food as a good thing.

Nobody should ever eat fried cheese danish (CRT breakfast), or deep fried candy bars (DTD). It just goes beyond my comprehension why anybody would WANT to eat such a thing.

I realize that Disney is out to make a profit, but I think they also have an amazing opportunity to be stewards. Guests are essentially captive. I can't really go back to my hotel room to get my daily serving of veggies. As much food as Disney sells, so much of it is junk food. WDW is big enough to offer both - a few treats AND some healthy choices! I see places like Boma - where folks can stick to plain foods - OR sample something slightly different - as a wonderful opportunity to introduce folks to new, healthy foods. I myself discovered several new soups and salads there. I discovered quinoa there! It tastes GREAT!

The only unhealthy food I bemoan slightly is the real mac and cheese they used to have all over property. The orange stuff is just horrible. I can't imagine it's any healthier, but maybe I'm wrong.

I eat those kind of things at home (multi grain buns/rolls, 12 grain bread, etc.) so it's no biggie to me.

I would not have known the difference if you didn't tell me. I prefer wholegrain anyway. My buns were fine.

I'm fine with them too. We rarely eat hamburgers or hot dogs but we had some last year and I also did not understand the complaints I've read on here.

I had the same experience as you, OP, last year. The buns were fine. Now, I can't say I ate a lot of burgers and hot dogs at WDW - just Pecos Bills and Casey's but the buns were perfectly good. Actually I thought my burger at Pecos Bills was delicious and it is a must do QS for me.

LOL...:lmao:..I know WDW is trying to get into some "healthier" habits which is fine with me. Just because I'm at WDW doesn't mean I can go crazy eating everything that is not healthy. I prefer a whole bread myself, then I can go have a Mickey bar (just kidding), but really I don't see a problem with them either. A lot of people just prefer to eat that white processed bread, that's all.

I'm glad to see i'm not crazy and that some other people agree with me.

I feel like a lot of peple on here would start a riot over the buns if they could:rotfl:

Me too. I've been eating burgers and hot dogs at WDW since the late 80's, and if I hadn't heard on here that they changed the buns, I never would have known. Never had a bun crumble or fall apart, and they taste the same to me as they always did.

I eat wheat bread and buns at home ~ I'm actually not a fan of plain ol' white bread...no texture to it.

That said, I'm not sure what it is that Disney is serving lately. It's not white bread, and it's certainly not a decent wheat. Whatever it is, it was dry and crumbly and I personally didn't care for it.

If Disney is going to go to wheat buns, great - serve a good wheat bun. If not fine, at least I recognize mushy white bread. Whatever they're serving now however? Really needs to go.

Just my .02 :hippie:

i dislike them for the simple fact that i have crohns. it's been in a bad flare for almost 2 years now, so i have no choice but to eat the buns, or even pizza dough and pay for it in the long run. it sucks but hey im at disney!

as the saying goes...
Different foods for different people ...as we are not all the same.

We dont do burgers and hot dogs ....maybe two or three times during the summer here....but I really enjoyed hamburgers with fries at Disney....lsat year we didnt order them because of the unable to keep the buns intact when toppings are added...

Hope that last year they did go back to a heavier bun......one that stays together......

AND when we were sitting next to people at restaurants and their buns were falling apart and the parents were upset that the kids made a mess.....so I doubt that it is just a handful of people throwing a fit because of a change..

I'm very fussy when it comes to bread and rolls. I agree don't know what those rolls are.

Some kind of over processed, add a little wheat to the mix and say their healthy. I also did not like the white rolls either. I do feel you should be given a choice though.

Actually, we prefer multigrain or whole wheat bread, so we're fine with the change. We don't really eat white bread/buns anyways, so we're used to it.

However, when we're at Disney, we rarely order anything with a bun so it's not a big deal for us. No one seems to like hamburgers but my husband has had hotdogs on occasion and he said that he didn't mind the change.

We actually prefer the taste of multigrain bread. I find white bread to be tasteless. So it's not always a matter of healthy eating, it's really a matter of taste for us. Healthy is just a bonus!:thumbsup2
