...that loves reading and inputting to the board, but sadly has to wait another 4 years till can experience the magic again? Only because we have a 20month old DD and want to wait till she can apprieciate the trip ...and we have to save up too i'm sure it will be worth the wait

Why wait that long ??
You can go on a modest budget and stay offsite particularly in the off season e.g. not the school holidays. There are plenty of things to do with a toddler at any of the parks, we took our DS when he was just under a year old and every other year since just about and he loved every trip and had lots of fun even on a tight budget and staying offsite.
Lots of places have low fares for kids and some hotels kids can stay for free with parents and some restaurants they can dine for free too and ticket prices for small children (under threes are free) are reasonable. Some TAs even have single parent discounts available if you just enquire. Just shop around and do lots of research first and maybe with a little pixie dust that trip will come around quicker than you think.

Even when we don't have a tip planned we still browse the web and post too so you are not alone

Thanks for the tips - can't do the single parent bit as i have DH . Lets just say money is very tight until DD goes to school. but you never know the temptation might be too great!

Good times of year we found to have been late November after Thanksgiving fairly cheap and the parks have Christmas decorations up and MVMCP is often on a couple of times but separate tickets are required(but totally worth it). February around Valentines week or September after Labor Day is often nice low crowds and less queues too.

I can totally see where you are coming from, although we now have a school age son and the headache about having to take them in the school holidays has begun.

I much prefer May and October - but other than the odd occassion where we will take them out for a week around Oct half term, I fear we will be mainly going in the hot and expensive summer holidays.

If you can fit in a trip before they start school (we took our oldest at just over 4 and it was absolutely perfect)it may save you the headache and expense of fitting in around school terms, at least for one visit anyway!!

We are the same, we love May and October and last went in Oct 07 just before eldest DD started school. I am working on DH for a three weeker next year before youngest DD starts school in September so it will have to be August (this is why I want to do 3 weeks to pace ourselves).

I miss not having a tripped booked but only planned in my head, DH says he isn't sure about next year but I know he really wants to take the girls back - he's not one for planning ahead.....
