Am I the only one...

We ALWAYS start at MK. It just doesn't seem like we've "arrived" until I step out from under the railroad station onto Main Street USA and see the castle. That being said, THIS year (one week from now actually) we are starting with MGM, then AK, then Epcot, then MK last. Blasphemy? Perhaps. But the park hours, and other mitigating circumstances had it work out this way for us. Luckily Fantasmic is my favorite show, so I figure it'll be a great way to start out our trip!

Last year was my DW's first trip to WDW, so we started with the Magic Kingdom just because it is the Magic Kingdom. Next year we'll be starting with Animal Kingdom because we never got over there last year. But there is a good chance that we won't spend all day at AK, and will end up in MK anyway!

I would like to always start out at MK but it never works out that way... Lately it seems like I have been going to EPCOT on the first day but usually atleast try to park hop over to MK to finish out the first night... just doesn't feel right without seeing the castle

I'm arriving on a Friday too and I'm going to AK first, then Epcot for 2 days, then MK on the 4th day.

We always seem to start our trip at MGM and this trip is no exception. We have ADR's for an early dinner, then tickets to Fantasmic (as we've missed it on previous trip due to weather).

I know some folks can't kick off their trip until they see Cindy's castle, but for me, I love the sight of ToT and can't wait for some thrills and chills

We're not hitting the MK until day four, which will be our third park day. I know my kids will want to see the castle, too, so on our first night, we arrive at 4 pm, we'll do the monorail loop, and at least see the castle from a distance. Also thinking of taking the boat to MK the first night to activate my AP.

We're also staying at Ft. Wilderness, hoping to see the castle from the marina? Maybe too far?

Nope, we are arriving at 2pm - heading to MGM for dinner and Fantasmic, then the next day DAK and finally Day 3 ~ MK.

It all depends...most often it isn't our first park, but we do tend to go to MK at least twice (or maybe more if MK has late evening hours when we're there), and MK is the park I'd pick if I could only do one. Our first park tends to be Epcot, but again, not always.
