...who isn't going to MK first? It seems like a lot of people start their trip by going to MK. We're arriving on a Friday evening and not going to MK until the following Tuesday. We're doing Epcot on Saturday, then Sunday at DTD, then MGM on Monday. We'll be going to MK for the first time on Tuesday, having already been there for 3 days. This is just the way our plans worked out. We're going to MK again that week on Thursday for MVMCP.

Are you one of the many who seem to start their trip at MK, or do you save it for later in the week?

I've done it many different ways, so MK is not always our first park.

Yes, I have done it many ways as well. Last time we didn't get to MK until our third day, but I decided in the future not to wait so long. Main street with the castle in front of you seems like the best way to really "arrive" in the World for me.

We went to MGM our first day. My friend was unable to see Fantasmic! during her honeymoon due to weather. Three nights she sat there in the seating area only to have it be cancelled. We were determined that she not miss it this trip. We figured if we tried it the first night and something went wrong we would have many more nights to get it in. We did go to MK the second day because we had to hit it on a night that had Spectro and Wishes, it was during MNSSHP time so we had to plan accordingly.

If all else was equal, I'd start with MK and end with MK.
But it's more important to me to minimize the crowds at each park, so I schedule our days depending on which will be least crowded each day.

This is exactly what I do. If I had my way, I'd also start and end with MK, but I'd much rather avoid the crowds so I plan my days around them.
:thumbsup2

We arrive late in the day, so we're doing Epcot the first evening for a few attractions and dinner, then doing AK and Epcot the next day. Not getting to MK until the next evening (for MVMCP) after a morning at the Studios.

Since we're arriving on a Monday evening (and only doing DTD that night) our first full day of parks will fall on a Tuesday. I hear Tuesdays are good days at MK so I'm going to take advantage of that! If our first full day was on a Saturday though, I would definitely wait a few days to do MK.

Guilty! Yes we are doing MK first (to me, the trip just doesn't start until you walk down Main st)
Our first day will be a Sunday, so I know it will be crowded, so instead of worrying about rides we will spend the first day hitting shows, parades, characters, penny machines, etc... But since we are doing an eleven day trip, we will still have two full days at the MK to do all the rides we want.

We sometimes start out at MGM. It just depends what works better in our schedule.

I never start my trip at Magic Kingdom unless touringplans suggests that park for my arrival day. After 2 very Magical trips using touringplans, I do what ever they tell me! :thumbsup2

We always start with Epcot too!

Next time we might start with MK though as it's our least favourite, and always the most disappointing park. I know not many people will agree with me there, but I just don't like MK in the daytime. Spectromagic and Wishes are fantastic, though.

We will be arriving Dec 15 too!

Our first park day is also that Saturday the 16th. We were going to start with AK but it was eating away at me. It is my kids first trip and I also had Tues as our first MK day. I thought that was too long to wait for them to see MK which is the park they always think of when they think WDW. So we moved things around and now will be doing MK on Saturday.

We'll be at MGM Monday in the first part of the day too, see you there!

Allyson :)

We normally start out at MK, but in November we are starting at Epcot. Normally our DS7 feels its necessary to start at MK so he can ride Buzz Lightyear and Stitch almost immediately.

I follow whatever TGM says is the least crowded park for that day. This trip that means we will go to MK on our 4th day.

We seem to go to Epcot first. Its always open the latest of the 4 parks. So once we arrive, check in and head out.. its always to Epcot. Depending on the day we get there, and the season, we may stay away from MK for a few days depending on crowd levels. I use Tour Guide Mike for best days at the parks. And my own rule is to avoid MK on Saturdays and Sundays!!

Ideally, our trips would begin and end at MK. But that just isn't always possible! Next trip our first park is Epcot. But we'll get to MK on Day 2. :thumbsup2
