Am I the only one who was not impressed by FOP?

We went on FOP last week and even though I enjoyed it, I feel it did not live up to the hype.

I don’t know if it was because of the glasses I had on were dirty or defective, but too much of the ride was blurry.

For us it was a one and done.

Some people actually cannot see the 3D films properly and this is something that Disney and other parks that are using this on newer rides haven't been accounting for like they should.

It was a one and done for me unless the wait were to become minimal... simply over hyped.

Nope, can't join you on this one. Not over hyped, IMO (of course the level of hype is purely subjective). Been on it twice, and I enjoyed it the second time as much as the first. I think it's very well done, the attention to detail is remarkable.

I think it’s be glasses. We first went when it was new & it was amazing. Most recent trip in Nov I found it blurry too.

That was our experience, too. Kind of like the glasses at PhilharMagic. If you don't get a pristine pair (which are harder to come by now than they were at the beginning), the experience is definitely affected

Blurring can be an issue if you don't look right through the center of the glasses. Looking to either side requires turning your head, not merely shifting the eyes. This will be the case for almost anyone.
I have to admit, I've ridden FoP so many times by now (usually about five times each trip) that I'm beginning to wonder if the "coolness" factor is wearing off.

I wear prescription eyeglasses and the FOP glasses don't fit well over them. The other attractions that use glasses (Muppets, TSMM) fit better. Because they don't fit well, I spent part of the time trying to adjust them or holding my head at an angle to make the film not blurry.

I will say the quality of the glasses were likely a culprit, as I rode the ride in the first week or so of opening and it was much better.

Fully enjoy FoP and have not had a blurry ride yet (luckily?). However, I will not wait 2 hours for it.
I do think it currently is the best ride at WDW. Sounds like the 2 at SWGE will be even better.
I think the atmosphere of Pandora is amazing and even better at night.

It exceeded my expectations. I figured it was mostly hype. I was pleasantly surprised by all of Pandora, but I love AK as much as MK, and that is saying something. My least favorite park has always been HS, even though I love ToT and Rockin' RC. It is so small. To be fair, we usually go there towards the end of our trip and I am always tired on HS day. I need to go there first next time.

I think it's okay and the preshow is neat, but I don't get the hype or 3 hour long lines. I have pretty crappy vision, wear contacts, and have trouble watching 3D movies, so I think that's part of it. I just don't see it all at one time, if that makes sense. That being said, I would be disappointed if I couldn't get a FP for it on my next trip.

Three hours is too long for any ride. I am still shocked at the long lines for Peter Pan's Flight.

As as a lifelong Disney fan I'm pretty sure no new attraction is going to measure up to the classics for me. FOP is a technological marvel but the hassle of getting FP or waiting in a long line makes it kind of a "meh" for me. Maybe there will be a day when all the hysteria dies down that I'll enjoy it more. But if someone were to ask me about FOP I'd certainly advise them to give it a shot.:earsboy:

Same here. Kind of blurry. I can see fine on all other 3D rides but not FOP. We rode twice and both times was kind of blurry .

You're not alone! It wasn't blurry for me, but my feeling is that at the end of the day, a motion simulator is just a motion simulator. It's a very good motion simulator, but at this point in my life I have a strong preference for rides that move through physical environments, as my brain is rarely fooled into thinking I'm actually moving when I'm just looking at a screen from a seat that shifts around in place. I think it really, really doesn't help that you can turn your head left or right and see the other riders; for me Star Tours is still the better simulator because everything that's within your field of vision is moving with you (that's part of my problem, though; I wrote about immersive cinema academically and part of my research involved riding motion simulators and deliberately looking the wrong way to break the illusion and see how things were done--and now I can't turn it off!). I enjoyed FoP, to be sure, but I don't think I'm inclined to wait more than half an hour for it now that I've done it once. Would absolutely recommend everyone do it once to see how they like it, but for me on future trips it's just not a high priority.

I have mixed feelings on the design of the seats. It's a cool concept and I really liked the added touch of the Banshee "breathing" under you, but I agree with a previous poster--the design of the seats tends to exclude too many guests from riding. I thought I'd have trouble fitting into the seat because I'm heavy, but my challenge actually came from my legs being almost too long to fit--and I'm only 5'10"! The unusual design makes it really difficult to predict what body types will or won't fit, since I'm sure many people taller than me but proportioned differently are able to ride...so then we have these threads where people are giving their body measurements down to their calf diameter and even with that kind of data it's still impossible to say until you get there whether or not you'll fit in the dang vehicle.

loved it we went on it 4 times this past trip. I was worried about fitting on the ride, I'm a plus size gal no problems. The River Ride was cool too, it shows how far they have come from It's a small world. I wish they had more of the bottle fillers at WDW as they had in the queue at Navi River

Same here. During the whole ride trying to adjust them or looking different ways . I even took my prescription glasses off but that was worse lol.
