Am I the only one who thinks Christmas came too soon?

Halloween just ended and it's not even cold outside yet! I /just/ turned my clock back and I haven't eaten my Turkey dinner yet and there they go putting presents and trees and snow everywhere. Maybe where they live, they don't see snow so they were really anxious or something. I personally think this entire theme needed to wait another month to be released. 2 months of Christmas is just too much. Christmas should be for the month of December. Poor Thanksgiving gets nothing. I think a thanksgiving theme or even an autumn theme would have been awesome in between. I'm just not feeling Christmasy and Snowy yet. I probably won't until Thanksgiving day is here and I see Santa at the end of the Macy's parade.

Before I get into my opinion, can I just say, that VMK is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! I triple Love Love Love it!

Anyway. When you think about it, it is really not too early compared to the real world. I do think that the day after Thanksgiving would have made much more sense, but if you look around all of the stores are packed full of Christmas items and the commercials are already Christmas based. VMK is rolling right along with the rest of life.

I just love the Holidays!! It's my favorite time of year and I'm so happy that VMK is done up early. As far as I'm concerned, it's never too early for Christmas :cool1: I already have a couple of presents wrapped and have been counting the days until I can decorate. LOL, DH says not until the day after Thanksgiving, we'll see if I can make it that long

*clings to Cornecupia and Pilgrim decorations* Noooo we must eat turkey first. I must venture out with my megaphone and bring order to the world. Christmas comes but once a year!

Maybe I'm just old fashioned or something. I know stores put the decorations and gifts out because people like to buy them early. That's fine. I'm one of those people. But I won't decorate until I've eaten my turkey. It's just the rule. You can't have one holiday until you get through the other. *dusts off the Mayflower* It's ok Thanksgiving. I still love you.

Oh, I am just pleased as punch with the changes. Maybe it is because I do live in Florida, we don't get to see snow, and it is still in the upper '80's here. I agree, I would love to have seen a Thanksgiving theme since it is my favorite holiday, but I am just glad to get rid of the halloween stuff. We don't "do" halloween.

I am glad though they put up the decorations so early so we have more time to enjoy them. Everything is so beautiful. We weren't on VMK last year, but from what I hear it is a huge improvement over last year. Maybe next year they will be able to have a Thanksgiving theme. Thanks again VMK! :cool1:

I use to be on a mailing list where one lady had 40+ Christmas tress, she started putting them up in August. LOL

I would have waited until Thanksgiving weekend to put up the vmk Christmas.

I love that Christmas has come early! It's my fave holiday and while I do understand that some may want to celebrate Thanksgiving.... Thanksgiving in November is only celebrated in the US. Other countries have theirs at other times (for example..Canada's Thanksgiving is in October) and then there are the countries that don't celebrate Thanksgiving at all. So, if VMK caters to everyone in the world ... Thanksgiving in the grand scheme of holidays just doesn't make the top of the list sorry to say. :confused3 popcorn::

THANK YOU!!! I completely agree! I just got back from Target and they had ALL of the Fall/Thanksgiving/Halloween Decorations on clearance! I loaded up on brown orange and yellow stuff.

What happened to the good old days where no christmas stuff was allowed untill after Santa floated by on the Macy's Parade Float?

I am really upset!

I love it

Now can someone get my local radio station to go 24/7 christmas music early too?

I'm with you Hopeless & Schnerk on this one. I LOVE all the lights and decorations on VMK, BUT they should have waited until AFTER Thanksgiving. It irks me every single year that everyone jumps from Halloween right into Christmas, as if Thanksgiving doesn't matter at all. I happen to LOVE Thanksgiving, one of my favorite holidays (hey, it involves food!)

I am definitely not in the Christmasy mood yet. I'm still mourning the loss of summer....

Gr!

Threeboysmom you need to move to the desert then you wont mourn summer. I live in Arizona and we say summer just began for us. IN the summer months its way to hot to call it summer lol.

Its usually about 80 lately in the day time and a brisk 55 at night. what we dont get here is fall colors unless we drive to the Grand Canyon or somewhere up north. There are very few didigious trees in the desert.

Havent even been on vmk yet, but Christmas? Already? It's uh, 2 months away still! How about back to "normal" for a bit and THEN Christmas? Yes, I do think it's too early for Christmas, or Channukah for that matter.

ITA! I would have liked to see Main Street back to normal first. Then when they put up the Holiday decorations, there would have been more of a WOW factor. As it is, I'm afraid I'm going to get tired of looking at them for two whole months.

Of course, none of this stopped me from buying (and wearing) the new Mickey Santa hat.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the holidays.......all of them! But most of all Christmas.......the season of giving!
After last year having Halloween up practically until Christmas, I give big kudos to VMK for surprising us all today! Woo Hoo
Waiting for Thanksgiving? There's only so much you can decorate for Thanksgiving, so I'm fine with that. I don't decorate too much for Thanksgiving, sure a few pumpkins, turkeys and fall leaves....but watch out Christmas.....we have one of those streets that people drive and walk up and down, because every house decorates so wonderfully! I can't wait!
We do have a radio station that plays Holiday music 24/7 but not for a few more weeks I think! KOST103.5.....I can't wait!
Thanks VMK for making my day!
Happy Holidays dis friends! :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:
May all your VMK wishes come true ;)

The earlier the better, at least they are prepaired. Last year we had no main street decor, or hats. It's cold here believe it or not, it's not always sunny and warm in California.

When I remember that it was well into December before VMK took the Halloween decorations down last year, and what a let-down it was to see only the Esplanade decorated after much anticipation, no way am I going to complain about holiday decorations being up before Thanksgiving!

All I can say is, way to go VMK! Now this is what I call magic. :thumbsup2

This is what I was just about to post! It was almost the middle of December last year before the halloween deco came down and we never got any Christmas other than the Esplanade. I'm very thankful not to suffer through rotting pumpking syndrome again. Personally I do almost all my shopping online and try to be done by Thanksgiving so this is just fine with me, keeps me in that ho ho ho mood for shopping! :thumbsup2

I LOVE the new decorations!! I dont think it came to early we always decorate right after halloween and it takes us a week as long as we get it done before my sisters birthday:)

I am stoked - I think it looks great. And after last year's "Halloween Until December" fiasco, it can't come too soon for me!

Oh yes, yes! Can I move to the desert? Sounds perfect! :thumbsup2
