Am I the only one who thinks Christmas came too soon?

Awesome!!! :) Thats is what I think! My favorite holiday is Christmas... and it never can come to early for me. I was wondering what or if they would do anything as i heard so many talk as they have here again about how they went all out out for Holloween but nothing much for Christmas... So I am so happy to see it. Just makes you feel good to see the lights and all the decorations and the snow...oh love the music! They have done a fantastic job and I say Thank You to Yavn and the staff for all their hard work! And they already released Mickey Ears today too! Sweet! I only hope that we can get some new costumes to go with our Mickey Sants Hat... That would be so cool to get! Mickey Sants Hats...YEA!!! YEA!! :woohoo:

:cool1: pirate: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

How can you say christmas to early? Christmas could never be to early :D

I am just so happy with this change! I am SUCH a summer person but it is November and I have come to terms with that fact that summer is gone now lol.

The decorations are absolutely lovely and the music just makes me smile to hear! Christmas is celebrated in the Disney parks early so it makes sense to see the decorations up. I know Halloween just ended and Christmas is still two month away, but I gotta tell ya, I LOVE getting ready for Christmas early...even before Thanksgiving.

Now, I am not saying I don't like Thankgiving, heck I love it! My birthday is on Thanksgiving. However, Christmas is my all time favorite holiday and I couldn't be more pleased with the changes!

It is so much more fun to anticipate because if we wait too long, Christmas will already be over! Heh.

Isn't anticipation half the joy? Think of this like a trip to a Disney park...getting ready for it is all part of the fun!!!

Heh, this is also coming from someone who starts listening to Christmas carols before Thanksgiving and starts decorating before Thanksgiving arrives AND buys a few Christmas trees the first Saturday after Thanksgiving. lol. We waste no time in having fun with Christmas!!!

Now, this doesn't mean we don't enjoy Thanksgiving, 'cause we definitely do! We watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and we all get together with stuffing, cranberry sauce and all that good stuff! Oh, and not to mention my opening birthday presents! teehee.

This is just all in good fun, in vmk. They decorated it, it looks gorgeous, the music is uplifting and it really makes things fun in vmk again! Heck, I'm going to enjoy it! It isn't fun to mope around grumbling how they put things out there too soon. I think vmk owes us a long Christmas anyway!! heh, considering how long Halloween was last year.

I, for one, am going to make the best of this and have fun with it. This makes me excited!! lol.

And you know, I never even gave it a second thought...about it being out too soon...at least not until I saw this thread. lol.

My motto never was and is not "Bah Humbug" lol.

I really like the new decor, but I also would have liked it if they had waited at least a week longer. At least last year they had the big Thanksgiving quest. Looks like nothing this year... :(

Thank you for making this thread! I try to keep my complaining about VMK to a minimum because I know they do their best, and I'm glad the game even exists at all.

However, I was complaining the whole time I was playing today. Every year I get so frustrated with these houses and stores that think Thanksgiving doesn't even exist, and now VMK is joining in on it too. That just irritated me so bad!

I was so excited when I woke up today. I saw that the loading bar had changed color, and I was thinking "Good. They've changed it. Now let's see how the next screen looks!" I was expecting to see a turkey or something, but then a big snowman pops up on the screen! I couldn't believe that!

Don't get me wrong, the decorations are nice, but I don't like that VMK is joining the ranks of the early decorators that have annoyed me my whole life :furious:

Sorry... I'm calmed down now that that's out.

When I remember that it was well into December before VMK took the Halloween decorations down last year, and what a let-down it was to see only the Esplanade decorated after much anticipation, no way am I going to complain about holiday decorations being up before Thanksgiving!

All I can say is, way to go VMK! Now this is what I call magic. :thumbsup2

Woot!! I am so with you on this one. No nasty flies around the pumpkins. Glad they brought on the Christmas decorations (and not the christmas buyables - I need more credits).

I'm with you Hopeless & Schnerk on this one. I LOVE all the lights and decorations on VMK, BUT they should have waited until AFTER Thanksgiving. It irks me every single year that everyone jumps from Halloween right into Christmas, as if Thanksgiving doesn't matter at all. I happen to LOVE Thanksgiving, one of my favorite holidays (hey, it involves food!)

I am definitely not in the Christmasy mood yet. I'm still mourning the loss of summer....

Gr!
I'm with you. You just can't move from Halloween to Christmas and totally ignore Thanksgiving.

At least you shouldn't in America. ;)

I just love it. And being Canadian we already had are thanksgiving LOL. I am so impressed with the enthusiasm they put into decorating. Christmas is about peace goodwill to all men/women. Right now in the world today we need the spirit of christmas all year round. The joy of giving, of helping the less fortunate; showing appreciation to loved ones .... I am thrilled to see Christmas. Christmas is all about love. Great we get to celebrate love more than a few weeks.

Thanks VMK best you have done yet in my books.

I'm glad to see there are a lot of people who feel the same way. After seeing so many early Christmas decorations, sometimes it's felt like I was the only one who felt like that. Thanks for proving me wrong.

I don't know how it is around everybody, but I saw a store or two on October 29 that had Christmas decorations up!

You can decorate for Christmas while remembering Thanksgiving. ;)

I've been lead to believe that it's Christmas, all year round.

I never realized how divided this discussion is. 50% wants Christmas as soon as they can possibly get it and the other 50% wants Christmas after Thanksgiving (like it should be *cough*)

I know not everyong celebrates Thanksgiving in November, but I think an autumn theme would be a nice change. Nothing drastic. Just take down the halloween decorations, have some leaves on the ground, the trees can change colors. I think it would be very pretty and yet subtle. Then after Thanksgiving, we can all by wow'd by the awesome decorations. They're nice, don't get me wrong, but I'm just not in the mood to look at them yet. I find myself annoyed to see the snow everywhere. Winter is not here yet. Autumn is!

Yavn, or any staff member who may read this and talk to Yavn, please remember this for next year, as it's a very good point. You've done an excellent job with the decorations, but if you can make all those Halloween decorations to display for only 31 days, certainly you can make it so that the Christmas decorations are only displayed for 31 days, right?

I love it! It is lovely!

but

TOO SOON!

Oh well, at least at Wallmart they havent started the Christmas Music.... :rotfl2:

Nope. You have to decorate for Thanksgiving. The browns and oranges don't really fit in with Christmas. ;)

Way too early! Maybe we should make up some vmk Thanksgiving Carols! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

As much as I do love having Christmas stuff early  [personally I put up Christmas stuff on Thanksgiving..the next day latest! :rotfl: ]I can see how some feel about not wanting Christmas decor up at the moment. :) And I do agree with your point. An Autumn theme would be awesome. Leaves on the ground, trees changing colors and things of the like would be cool. :thumbsup2 It's something they can work on for next year perhaps?! :confused3 :teeth:

Yeah I logged on after my play rehearsal(sp) and I saw the loading thingabober and I thought, "Wait a second didnt they JUST take the halloween decorations down?!" Its waaaaay to early in my opinion but VMK does look BEA-utiful. And I noticed they can't say "CHRISTMAS" but they say holidays...

To keep in the VMK christmas spirit I've taken the christmas decor form the attic out. Woo for decorating tomorrow. Decorate christmas, celebrate thanks giving. No biggie.
