I totally agree with Fox's decision to drop Frenchie from American Idol. If she had posed for an adult website I probably would let it go, but she didn't--the website she posed for was advertised as child porn. Even though she was 18 the viewers of that website were looking for underage girls, therefore she supported that kind of thing. I don't care what the money was for. I am so totally against porn and hate to see kids exploited especially.
I've heard the argument that it isn't fair since they had Sarah who was into bondage flicks, etc....but that wasn't kiddie porn.
Now Frenchie is a special reporter for Entertainment Tonight, singing away...and I can't believe she is getting so much support and publicity from this. It's just not right for her to be rewarded after what she did.
Thanks for another vent!!

this is the first i have heard of this. but that is disgusting!

In an interview I saw with her...she stated that the site had been sold after she had posed for it....Not sure of the real story just thought I'd add that info...

Kind of strong words...the first thing that comes to mind is there are people out there that have made a lot worse mistakes and have been rewarded.....Roman Polanski comes to mind....

I hope you haven't ever paid to see any of his movies...

It wasn't advertised as a child porn site...it was a site that said they were overage girls posing younger. Sarah posed as a CHEERLEADER in one of her movies. I'm sure she posed as a middle aged cheerleader though  . It isn't any surprise that guys like to see chicks in outfits that make them look like school girls/young girls and you don't need to go to a porn site to see it (Britney Spears in her first video as an example). To equate that with child pornography would be silly and would make most men pedophiles.

I have only heard bits and pieces of this on the news, but child porn or not, I do understand why they pulled her. I listen to the show (DH watches, I listen) and as (I believe) Simon said, they are looking for someone who could possibly be a good roll model as well. I heard a comment or two addressed to the "clean" looking girls that it is time to have an idol that can be respected like that. I think with the term "idol" that they would like to pick someone who America can respect and truthfully while I can think of worse things someone could have done, I can fully understand why they wouldn't want a former porn star to be someone that others could possibly look up to as a star.

but remember frenchie told AI about this from the beginning. she gave all this information to fox and they let her continue. then as she is preparing to perform fox yanks her from the show because suddenly its not apropriate. puh-lease.

I haven't heard of this....actually haven't watched American Idol this time around so I have no idea who she is.....but

but remember frenchie told AI about this from the beginning. she gave all this information to fox and they let her continue. then as she is preparing to perform fox yanks her from the show because suddenly its not apropriate. puh-lease

if the above is true and she didn't mislead them in any way then I don't understand why they would pull her now. It doesn't make sense. If she had kept it from them, they found out and then let her go it would make much more sense to me.

i think its because at first fox didnt think frenchie would make it far but soon found out that she was a fan favorite and had the potential to be the next AI.

At first I was surprised that Frenchie has so much support! But, to be fair, Nikki Mckibbin from season one is a former stripper and they let her continue..nevermind the fact she came very close to winning the whole shabang. It just seams hypocritical to me that they allow a former stripper on season one and not allow a person who posed topless for a website in season two.

Lets' see:

skinny white girl in bondage - OK
Tall handsome guy modeling underwear - OK
Pimping a woman to a marry a stranger - OK
beautiful white singer AI finalist who is a stripper - OK

but

Large Black woman being forthright, upfront modeling lingerie(not naked) - banned

Can we say double standard.

I firmly believe she was gonna blow away the competition - they knew it and didn't want a fat black chick as their American Idol. So what we probably get is another white bread cornbread idol so Simon can have his way.

I for one will not watch the show again. Have written sponsors stating so. And here they are:

Well said TIGGERSMOM!!!!!!!!!!

I think she was Robbed! She could really sing, and sing good.
There is so much other crap that goes on. EX. Michael Jackson, Bill Clinton, Pee Wee Herman
  Should I go on?

Totally agree with you. Just look at the comments Simon has made to some of the women he thought were overweight!!! I don't remember hearing him make those comments to any of the guys.....

I'm glad Frenchie got a gig with Entertainment Tonight!!!

GO FRENCHIE!!!!!

I think we all have a right to support or to not support anyone we choose, the best thing about living in America, IMHO.

Frankly, I get sick to my stomach everythime I see Woody Allen and his stepdaughter.....

I have disdain for kiddie porn as anyone in their right mind should, but I have more disdain for the slime that put up these sites for the other slime that watch this smut than the victims that are offered money to portray performers on these sites. Frenchie made a mistake but hey, so did Venessa Williams and she's sailing on her star today!

I do support Frenchie, because I think what she did was no worse than the people in Tiggermom's post, which was excellent, BTW TM! ALL of these people mentioned that they were doing it for the money at a time when they needed it. Sure, it may have been a bad choice, but bad choices is what we make when we are young. It's not a reason to condemn someone for the rest of their life.

Now adults who make bad choices, well, it's on them....

If that is true that she did no nudity and nothing that would be found in porn, then I stand corrected on my thoughts. From what I heard though she was nude and "performing acts on herself" on that site that was associated with kiddie porn. To me, that is worse than what I heard Nikki did (which would have been the equivalent of some Vegas show girl acts). Again, I only hear snippits on the news so I have no idea what is true.

The pictures are on http://www.savefrenchie.com and it looks like she is in a black dress but it is some sort of lingerie. She is just showing a little cleavage and it is nothing horrible to say the least. They are less revealing than photos in the SI Swimsuit Edition.

The pictures are certainly less revealing than Britney's "strip tease" performance a couple years ago.

The sad thing is that once those pictures were taken they're always out there. Seems like what her pictures were originally used for changed pretty dramatically with the site's new owners.

As far as Nikki, who knows what kind of club she "danced" in. Alot of clubs are pretty seedy. Was she only topless? Or was she buck naked putting her fill-in-the-blank in some guy's face? Performing lap dances? Rubbing up and down on a pole? That's worse to me than a photo of some woman touching herself. And certainly much worse that a photo of a woman showing less cleavage than I see at the mall most weekeds.
