I was just wondering if I am the only one who has ever regretted taking the KTTK tour. The tour is great and I enjoyed the onstage portions, but the backstage parts took away some of the "magic" for me.I found out that I definitely only want to view WDW from onstage.Has this been anyone else's experience? Thanks. :)

That's why I won't do it. I've always been tempted, but some things are better left to the imagination for me. :)

While I love learning about all things WDW, I just can't bring myself to do this tour. Maybe one day, but it's nothing that I will consider until I have gone over 12 times. That should be around the same time that I turn 45. Maggie

I won't take the tour for the same reason! I dont WANT to know!
What if they offered tours of Santas workshop in the NorthPole?....wouldnt do that either!
:wizard: :wizard:

I always think I'd like to, but then I think again. Heck, I don't like to see my food prepared at a restaurant!! :rotfl:

Nope, it didn't take away the magic for me. I loved the tour and love WDW - and enjoy getting some of the "behind the scenes" info.

Thats why I always advise Disney Virgins not to do it-you need to have a real knowledge of the parks to be able to appreciate just how the magic works. I don't think it spoils it-I know things break at Disney and I know they have garbage(Peeww!)

My real fascination with WDW has always, from the very first time, been how it works. My brain would see something and immediately want to know "how did they do that". I went on the tour once and, unfortunitely, had a newbee guide. She tried her best and was obviously nervous but without the confidence and the vast knowledge that other guides seemed to possess, we lost a lot.

The behind the scene stuff didn't bother me because I always knew that they had garbage to get rid of and things to repair and all the rest. I was enthralled with how things worked, be it trash removal or animatronics. It was all good. I loved finding out were some of the entrances and exits to the utiladors were. I look for them all the time now. Just like a hidden mickey.

I guess it is up to each individual to decide if knowing how will ruin the magic then, by all means, do not go. It will wreck it for you.

While some of the magic seems the slightest bit diminished, the number of small details that were pointed out supercedes it. I find that we enjoy MK even more due to it.

The true magic of WDW is the amount of work that goes into each detail. For me knowing all the little facts and detail truly enhances my visit. But to each his own.

If anything I think it just enhanced the magic for me. It is kinda like watching some of those TV shows that go behind the scenes. I have a great appreciation for everything at WDW as a result.

Same here. I went when I was 16 (the min age you're allowed to go so as to not "ruin the magic" :rotfl: ) and my mom and I loved it. I still remember the tour vividly and it's been 8 years ago now.

I loved seeing where they kept the old parade stuff and picking out cars from old parades that I had remembered from when I was little.

It definitely enhanced the Disney experience for me. :wizard:
