Today I had a doctor's appointment for a three month follow-up. I was not happy to see that I've gained 7 pounds since the last visit! I usually gain at least 4 pounds between Memorial Day and Labor Day every year. I guess it's all the weekly family trips we do to the different ice cream parlors in the area, not to mention all the lovely frozen concoctions at barbecues and summer outings. Also, time at the gym is very hard to get while the kids are out of school and I'm hauling them around to different sports camps.

I plan to get back on track next week with going to the gym every day while the kids are back in school full time.

I was just wondering if anyone else gains weight over the summer months.

No - my adult DD does.. And with her it's because during the summer, she and her family pack lunches to take with them out on their boat on Saturdays and Sundays (as well as 4-day weekends) - where as she doesn't eat any lunch at all once the summer season is over..:goodvibes

I do too. I wear jeans all winter, but loose, flowing dresses in the summer. It always takes a couple of weeks of hard work to get back into the jeans, and I'm always shocked b/c nothing felt tight all summer :lmao:

Ha ha, just got off the scale. Yep, me too - not a lot, maybe 3 lbs.. I know exactly why, so I don't sweat it. In the summer, I'm busy with day trips, vacations, cookouts, canoeing, festivals, etc. All of which seem to come with good food and all of which devour my workout time.

In the winter, when there is nothing else to do, I workout at the gym 4-5 days/week. I spend my abundance of free time concentrating on finding and trying good, healthy recipies. I can drop pounds like crazy, if I need to, between January and May. But I'm pretty much at a point where it's just a few pounds of fluctuation, so like I said, I don't worry about it.

I know I gained some weight. Having the kitchen remodeled limits food prep. to eating out, grilling out and sandwiches.

NO, you're not the only one. :sad2:

I'm so ashamed, I need to take that BL signature pic off of my signature. I've gained about 7 pounds this summer too. Eating out, eating socially, drinking... all taking its toll. I think I can get back in the swing of things after Labor Day, which is going to be a huge food fest. My friend and I are having a dinner party, where we all get a certain amount of time at the stove (in a beautiful small commercial kitchen) to cook our favorite dishes for the party. Ay yi yi. :rolleyes1

Nope -- I tend to as well. But then again, I'm an equal opportunity weight gainer.....

I gain in the summer also. after losing weight 2 years ago and keeping it steady, the last few months haven't been that good. I haven't weighed myself but I know my clothes don't fit as good as they did in the Spring.

I have to go back to the treadmill.

I always gain a few pounds in the summer. I blame it on the heat, humidity and ice cream!

I gain weight over the summer..

I teach and during the school year, I'm always on the go. I don't have time to even stop to eat some days. But, during the summer, I lay around, eat, bake, etc. It's terrible  but I'm grateful that I get to relax. I try to loose it all before the holidays. :)

Sure - a trip to New Orleans, a trip to San Antonio, and lots of weekend BBQ's with beer and margaritas = a few extra pounds, but it was all worth it! I don't stress it too much, as I'll lose it pretty easily when the weather cools down and I can get out and walk every day again.

I feel for you. I haven't updated my ticker in awhile, and I'm over that weight.
