I'm excited for the race, sure! I want to finish it and do the best I can and HAVE FUN! But I'm really not nervous.
Am I weird?
Just to edit so you don't think I'm totally nuts... I am a bit not happy about my shoe situation. I'd switched from my Asics GT-2150s to the new and updated GT-2160s in early December and they seemed to be doing well. Ran my 15K race and they were fine. Then I ran on Christmas and OUCH! The tie area lace eyelets come up so far on my foot it's putting pressure or something on that tendon that runs up from your big toe - the thing that pops up on the inside side of the top of your ankle if you leave your heel on the ground and raise your toes. I *think* I've figured out a solution for Marathon Weekend...but I'm bringing my almost done 2150s with me just in case. I think if the pressure thing is showing up, I'd be better off with more heavily used shoes. SOOOOO annoying!! After this race, it's off to the running store in search of some shoes that hopefully don't lace up that high. Coach - you were right! The shoe company's "improvements" aren't always improvements!
