Am I The ONLY One Here Who Does NOT Like The Cheese Soup at Le Cellier?!

I also have a strong dislike for beer and I do not think the soup has too much beer taste. I really like the soup. The first time I had it I didn't care for it too much, I think I was expecting something different (not sure what, just something different) I tried it again when I was more prepared and then I really enjoyed it. I try to eat there every trip if I can.

If you have never had it I say to at least try it. Everyone's tastes are different.

I do not like it either and I love cheese.

What's even better is to get somebody else at your table to order it. That way you can try it without having a whole bowl of soup you may or may not want. ;)

I don't like it either... DBF LOVES it though. It has too much of a beer aftertaste for me and I HATE beer... :confused3

I didn't think it tasted like beer, but I didn't like it well enough that I'd get it again.

My favorite appetizer is the tomato stack. We had the wasabi shrimp in the olden days when it was thawed-then-cooked shrimp served in a take-out container, and that would be my favorite, except that the last time we were at Le Cellier it was cooked-then-frozen-and-thawed shrimp.

Hey Bizzibee, fellow canadian, we will be in CSR in 10 days, look for the lady with a brown backpack with a canadian mickey head pin on the back. Have a good trip.

I love a GOOD beer/cheese soup but then I'm from Wisconsin and we have a lot of restaurants with great cheese soup here. I've never been to Le Cellier but we have ADR's for our Dec trip. From the look of that picture earlier in the thread, it won't be a favorite of mine. Good cheese soup doesn't have bacon in it at all. And the soup is way too white in color. I wonder what kind of cheese they use to make it?

There is just something about LeCellier in general (to me) that is so over-rated. I do not get the love affair with the soup...or the pretzel bread. These are OK but to hear people become so infatuated with two OK foods is beyond me. I also feel the steaks are just OK too. It's not a place I avoid going to but is not a place I get too excited about either.

I really don't get it..........:confused3

....it's the same reason folks to ga-ga over L'Originale Alfredo de Roma Ristorante....BLECCHHH!!

Is the child's soup appetizer exactly the same as the adults? If so, I'll make my son order it (he doesn't eat any of the appetizers) and order the tomato stack which is what I wanted and get the best of both worlds!

Yes, it is the same. Actually, that is how I sampled it. My son ordered it while I ordered the Prince Edward Island Mussels-now that was a fantastic appetizer! :upsidedow

Must be like that "French" dressing nobody in France has heard of. :rotfl:

Or the French onion soup.
I haven't been into one single restaurant in France where they had it (and yes, I do spend quite some time in France!)

I grew up in WI, and live on the MN/WI border. You are right, Wisconsinites know their way around a good cheese soup. In fact, they are experts on anything made with cheese, even though that may include a cheese head worn to a Packer game. ITA that good cheese soup does not contain bacon and it certainly isn't white! It may have beer in it though and sometimes popcorn on the top. Anyway, I do not like Le Cellier's cheese soup. You probably won't like it either, so my suggestion is to skip it.

For those who aren't sure if Le Cellier's soup has beer in it or not, it does. Moosehead to be exact.

We heard so many great things about Le Cellier for years and never tried it. Last year we went for the first time and we were not impressed. We both had the mushroom filet and it was just OK. I'm not saying i wouldn't try it again, but there are a lot more things througout WDW that exceed Le Cellier.
