well, OTHER people think I'm crazy.

My tree has been up for a week, I am done christimas shopping (except for a "Winter Survival Kit" for dd and a gift from Santa for dh), and there are presents wrapped under the tree.

Anybody else who just COULD..NOT..WAIT???

Cant you wait for thanksgiving to be over at least?
... :scared1: :rotfl:

NO, I couldn't! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

One year, I got soooo excited, my tree was up before Halloween. Yeah, yeah...i TOLD ya I was CRAZY! :rolleyes1

I absolutely refuse to start dealing with the Christmas Greed until we've at least pretended to be thankful for what we already have.

Hi, Not crazy, maybe just a little bit EARLY! :) I did put up my Snow Village today and my Byers Carolers. (I have quite a collection so it takes a while to get it all unpacked and up.) I also had my DH take the artificial tree out of the garage and he did put that up also.I will get that tree decorated before Thanksgiving.(we will get a live tree 2 weeks before Christmas.) I have not done much shopping yet just a few items for my DS (age-14) but I have been watching prices on some items. My family enjoys watching Christmas decorations go up over the next few weeks and besides the live tree I do like to have everything else decorated by the first week in December. However I am really slow with the gift wrapping and usually have to ask my DD to HELP ME as we get closer to Christmas! :santa: Joan

I am working on it, but will be lucky to get things done in time to leave here for WDW Dec17-24, and we will also be gone for Thanksgiving....I can't seem to get to a starting point!

Yes. Definitely crazy. But not the only crazy person here. You're not far gone enough!

Amen to that.

If anything, the earlier push into Christmas from year to year just depresses me and seems to squarely focus on the commercial aspect of the holiday.

Why are we always in such a hurry?

Everyone else is just jealous :) You are a little early though, but I told dh that i wanted to have our tree up next weekend. The neighbors down the street already have their trees up two weeks ago.

You're not crazy. You're enjoying the holidays!

We like to celebrate Thanksgiving with All Fall decorations. After Thanksgiving, we're Full Speed Ahead with Christmas. But I've seen several houses in our neighborhood with Christmas decorations already. Do what's best for your family, and enjoy! :goodvibes

Maybe a little crazy, but more power to you!

I am sorry that some people thought this was some sort of sign of greed and such, I am just going to assume that you like to enjoy your decorations, like I do, for as long as you can. I enjoy the Christmas spirit, so I say, the longer the better.

(And don't listen to those meanies:sad2: )

littlele and the rest,

thank you. I don't see it as greed at ALL...I only want one thing for xmas and if my honey doesn't get it, the world won't end. :)

I am excited about spending my first christmas with him and I wanted to see our NEW disney ornaments on the tree. :rotfl:

I'm excited about the things we share...NOT the things we buy. I thinkthe cooler weather here in New England also invigorates me...it's hard to get excited about Christmas in 85 Texas degrees. I'm gonna get my fill of the cooler tho...down to the 20's this week. YIKES!~

Define crazy? ;) :goodvibes

I suppose you are no more crazy than this Jew who plans on putting up her holiday tree next weekend. :rotfl:

And as far as shopping, I have only a few things left to get for the kids. I still have to think up good neighbor treats, teacher gifts, and co-worker trinkets but at least the big gifts have been bought.

My stuff is up early and I don't care what anyone thinks! :lmao:

We go away to WDW for Christmas, and have been for the past 3 years so the earlier our stuff is up, the more we enjoy it and get in the Christmas mood before our trip. :thumbsup2

The only reason mine isn't up is because I am restraining myself! That and I have to get through thanksgiving with my students!

My grandparents put theirs up yesterday. Last year my grandpa had surgery adn spent the holiday season in a hospital bed in their family room so they had no room for their tree. They put it up yesterday because they missed not having one last year. They are going to Disney with us for Thanksgiving and wanted it done beofre they left.

We put our up the weekend after Thanksgiving on the years we don't go to Disney, the years we do we put it up the first weekend in december. We cut down our own tree, so if we put it up any earlier it would be dead by Christmas.

I personally like to wait till after Thanksgiving, that is when the Christmas season starts in my heart, but you should do whatever you wish, it's your tree, your holiday, your choice!!! ENJOY!!!:santa:

You could always pretend you're Canadian, we have Thanksgiving back in October so it's well past for us.

I'm actually thinking I'd like to start do my Christmas decorations today. We are going to WDW from Dec. 1 to 15 and I usually put up decorations on Dec. 1 so I was feeling a bit sad - like I was going to miss 2 weeks of my usual holiday celebrations. But if I put them up now, I can get 2 weeks of decorations now, then 2 weeks in WDW (with plenty of decorations to enjoy) and then I'll be back for 2 weeks more leading up to the big day!
