...the high prices at DLRP?

I have bought the following:

One cup filter coffees
tea bags
plastic cups
sugar cubes
cheese biscuits
bags of dried fruit
chocolate crepes
rice cakes
sandwich box
flask

Will these be OK in my suitcase?

I have also bought:

plasters
calpol
nurofen
paracetomol
liquid piriton
calamine cream
antiseptic wipes

just in case...

It's more like preparing for a siege than a stay at the DLH!:rotfl:

Jeee whiz, how long are you going for and who are you planning injuring?:scared1:

;)

nah seriously I'm gonna do the cheese biscuit thing, never though of that!!!:thumbsup2

Maybe it's because I'm childless...

But I never even consider packing food and drink...

Might take some peppermint teabags though. Hopefully I can have them at breakfast if I can get hot water. :)

Other than that - I shall be paying through the nose for food and drinks, lol.

Vaseline, Lip Balm or similar, I found little ones faces can become very sore if it's cold and their dribbling or got a runny nose.
I love your pharmacy selection - mine is even longer, although last couple of times I've got it down to flight bag size rather than suitcase. :rotfl:

Jill is def right, take some lip balm and moisturiser-we have just back today and after walking around for 3 days in freezing temperatures, we all have sore/chapped lips!! Worth it tho lol!

That sounds like the sort of packing I'll be doing too.:)
My dd1 is accident prone, so I always take a stack of plasters with me where ever I go!

I would add wet wipes and some of the handy packs of tissues, and maybe some throat sweets. I always travel with a little jar of marmite too :rotfl:

you could also add cuppa soups and sachets of hot chocolate

Definitely, because you get a lot poorer when you have kids! When it was just me and DH, I was sooooo rich, I didn't even shop around.:rotfl:

Always be prepared! If there is anyone there with chickenpox, they can seek me out.
Thanks for the tip about the vaseline - I find it cures most things.;)

Check √ and check √
I've got the kids trying snacky things at home, last weekend it was the new "Super Noodles to Go - curry flavour", currently 2 pots for £1 in Iceland, they were only OK apparently, but when they're cold and hungry they'll thank me for them. :)

Im always armed with plasters etc ,in fact last year I was sitting waiting for the kids to come off R&Rc when a little girl fell over right in front of me I had the plasters and wipes and anticeptic out in a flash , she was a little japanese girl and her parents kept thanking me it was so sweet :cutie: , I was paid back for my kindness later that week when my DD had a nose bleed on the RER and everyone on the train passed tissues to me:goodvibes

On the subject of food I took a travel kettle and some pasta pots that you add hot water to (not pot noddle)whoops sorry jill just read your post!! but these are quite tasty ,also those cups with hot chocolate and coffee already in them that you get from poundshop, ceral bars ,boxes of raisins oh and cup of soups . We take all our food in a small case and then when its empty use it to bring all the souveniers etc we have bought :goodvibes

I'm off to poundshop tomorrow for tissues, hot chocolate, lip balm, pot noodles. I have wet wipes because DD(1) is still in nappies.

Is there anything else I have forgotten?

I think I will probably bring some lemsip with me in case one of us comes down with the cold. And Karvol to put on a handkerchief at night in case anyone has a blocked nose (and a handkerchief too).

oh yes wet wipes excellent my girls are 12 and i still take these for using on hands etc and in the summer they freshen you up although i dont think you will need refeshing this month:rotfl:

Well, I'll come to you if we get a cold and you come to me if you get chicken pox.:rotfl: Between us we should have everything covered for our stay.;)

Karvol and Lemsip is a great idea!! :)

I dont go ANYWHERE without my antispetic hadn gel. If I'm even gonna have a mint on a train I use it.

People look at me funny - but my hands have 99.9% less bacteria on than theirs! Who's laughing now!!

I also always take a little pack of baby wipes round the parcs with me, Jack's 23 but there is always a point when we need them! Also handy for tables!

Somewhere on here is a really good thread which has a long list of things to take when it's really cold. Seems like a good time to resurrect it but I can never get the search facility to work for me on this forum. I have it bookmarked on my laptop but my laptop is dead :sad2: - anyone got it bookmarked?

Google actually searches the DIS better than the DIS search - I'll ahve a look now - do you know any words that would definitely be in it to help single it out?
