Hi,

We are looking to travel end of September, beginning of October, staying for 2 weeks. Although 3 weeks would be better.

So far we have found Premium Economy flights with first choice at 2270, car hire thru Floridacarhire.co.uk, which is 382 for an 8 seater minivan. The hotel package is Pop Century, 14 Day Ultimate Ticket & Dining Plan for 1637. Total comes to 4289.

This is for 2 adults, a child (2 yr old) and an infant (1 yr old).

Do you think this a good deal or do you have any suggestions for getting it cheaper?

I think that is quite high, maybe its because of the PE seats?? but even so, you have to young kiddies. might be worth doing a flight search and also do the same for the 8 seater. who were you going to book the hotel with?

Hi,

The package is through Disney itself. I've had a bit of a look at flights but everything I've seen is higher. I just wondered if anyone could think of a way to get anyof the items cheaper.

The only way really is to do it all yourself rather than get a package!
you could try dreams unlimited at the top of the page for a quote for the hotel and ddp.
hope this helps you :goodvibes

Where are you flying from, and are you paying for a seat for the infant?

Depends if you want to stick to what you have in your post or you really want to save money and change your plans.
Personally I would do 3 weeks, Virgin economy, Full size car(plenty big enough), good off site hotel(don't like Value resorts) and 21 night ultimate tickets. Doing it this way would be around £3,000.

I would rather spend less money and so be able to stay longer than travel PE and just stay for 2 weeks. I would also think that a large car would be ok instead of a minivan. Pop Century is a great onsite hotel :goodvibes

You don`t fancy travelling earlier in Sept - just as the last 3 years Disney have offered free dining in this period - not guaranteed for this year though!

I think this is very expensive and agree you could do much better doing it yourself, maybe get a villa.

The PE seats probably bump up the price, so why not go economy.

Good rates for care hire at uscarhire - I've got some good deals with them.

Ok, we could maybe travel earlier in September but I personally don't like Florida as much in the summer. I would prefer to travel in November myself. That said, free dining plan would be cool. The thing is, we are actually travelling with other relatives as well, hence the need for the minivan. Offsite would be alright but I haven't found anything that is worth the money. The relatives are insisting we travel from East Midlands, as we are in Leicester. I haven't found anything cheap enough flying from anywhere else to justify doing it to them. As for Premium, I have definitely considered flying Economy instead but, as all the other demands are from everyone else, that was the one thing that I wanted. I never real enjoy flying Economy, whereas when I fly Premium I feel as though I'm starting my holiday. I suppose it's worth considering though.

There is no doubt a big saving can be made on the flights, but if it's your choice and the extra isn't an issue then go for it.
Personally I wouldn't but that's only my opinion.
I didn't think the price was that bad for PE.

As for offsite again it splits opinion, I'm a bit surprised that you don't think you can find anything worth the money as you definitely pay for the privilege of staying onsite.

Given you will have a car, how big an issue is it to be onsite.

Offsite would be alright but I haven't found anything that is worth the money.

Everyone is different with hotels and what they like, for us value resorts are not worth the money, usually around £50-£60/night, for that price offsite I would expect a 4 bed deluxe villa. Or for half the price somewhere like the Courtyard by Marriott LBV.(last twice paid £25/night incl)
A few days back I priced up the Marriott Grande Vista for someone, £46/night incl tax, cheaper than a value onsite, I know which I would choose. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/mcogv-marriotts-grande-vista/
Another factor for us is internet connection 21 nights onsite is $210 most offsite hotels its free.
We stayed in ASM once and never again, it was too basic but many others like it.

i would seriously reconsider staying at a value resort (or any place where you have just one room) with two infants...

I would stay offsite in a suite hotel/resort.. somewhere like Hilton Grand Vacations or Vistana .. where you have a living area...and sleeping areas.
If you stayed at Embassy Grand Beach villas for (we usually pay $140 a night) - its a 3 bed villa.... both children could have their own room!

Im just wondering how things would work for you in a value resort at Disney... that just wouldnt be a vacation for us. No balcony... nowhere to go once the children are asleep in the evenings....

We love Disney...and love to stay onsite.. when we go to DLRP we stay in one room... but we go to sleep at the same time as our 8 yr old son (8.30!) as there is no other choice! There is no way we could do that in Florida....

How are you getting Marriott at that rate, if you don't mind me asking? I can only get it for $149 a night.

Ok, so if we are thinking off property now, where can you recommend?

Do you mean the Marriot Grande Vista?
If you did I just checked for 30 sept for 7 nights for a quick eg. the code I have is now only giving 11% disc, so the payble rate is £50 (not £46 as it was).

www.hotelopia.com. This code gives 11% off 31245630. (might be better if you google, I got 15% a few weeks back) use rpoints.com or Quidco.com(everything bought on the net should go thru a cashback site) you get 10% cashback at these sites on all hotelopia bookings.

I am not saying to use this hotel, I know nothing about it, I was just usuing it as an eg. to show you you can get a 5* hotel offsite for cost of a value resort onsite. Or cheaper if you take into account offsite usually includes internet, fridge, microwave etc etc.

I'd do this except I'd stay in Pop. We stayed there in 2006 and LOVED it.
