So we're about a little over a year before we'd like to make our trip and I'm doing sooo much reading and planning... is fort wilderness the only campground worth staying at in Disney or are there other's worth the trip as well... I have kids, by time the trip they'll be 8, 6 1/2 and 2 1/2... I want it to be a nice time for them.. but I don't want to shell out all our money on just the campsite... We'll be driving a motorhome coming from Texas... Any comments...

considering what they are charging right now...you probably need to come up with a budget in order to decide on whether or not you are going to stay at FW...october sites were going at 110 bucks and july sites are going at 98 bucks before taxes

We come from Texas also. Try to remember that FW is not just any campground, its a full fledged Resort and has much more to do than a normal campsite/campground. Also you will have your own bed and comfort of your RV. I dont believe that theres any campgrounds in the area that will come close, do a little research and you will see its a pretty nice place.

:scared1: WHAT?? :sad2:

:scared1: Woah my 2008 confirmed ressies say for the 1600 loop a daily rate of around 52.88 from Oct 20 to 1 Nov and the same for 1 Nov to 1 Dec and with the AAA discount around $37. This covers both Halloween and Thanksgiving and their week end rates are a little higher, but not more than $5 or so a night.

Now the late Dec (after around the 20th) does set you back some $$$ and we paid close to $100 a night for like 10 days at the end of Dec for a full hookup, w/pets.

The OP said they were going in a year. I quoted 09 prices given to me and another poster within the past two days.

No way am I paying Disney $110.00 a night for late Oct for 09 when it's 40-55this year. There internet site doesn't work past 12/31/08 and the Cm's at CRO haven't a clue about FTW . I think it a lets see what the market will bear ploy to see if they can get the $110.00 per night. We all need to call the Mgr at FTW and give him a peice of our minds about this BS. With the high cost of fuel and the poor economy I see lots of folks cancelling this year. Maybe that will get the MOUSE'S attention.

Who's running Disney anyway ? George(clueless) Bush.

I wouldn't get excited over the prices yet for Oct 09. It has been Disney's practice for years to quote the highest price (in this case, probably peak season premium sites) when sites and price structures haven't been released yet.

Exactly!! The prices WILL go down.

I say it's definitely worth the money. As previously mentioned, FTW isn't JUST a campground. There are so many things that go on from the Campfire program to the beach and electrical water pageant.

When considering prices, also take into consideration what it would cost to drive from offsite to the property and park ($10 to park, I think...now, anyway) - plus the time that it would take. And the atmosphere is completley different when you leave Disney property.

I'd be really surprised if the prices went up that much, but I guess anything's possible. :confused3

The Prefered site is $110.00 per nite, just made ressies yesterday for June 09

As was stated above, this is the "high" estimate they are quoting right now, it is not a guaranteed rate. 2009 pricing has not been released, so you per night charge will be adjusted when the pricing is actually released.
