I am finding scheduling ADR's, this far in advance, way too difficult without knowing park hours. :confused3

Therefore I have decided to wing it and only schedule those ADR's I am positively sure of, especially those on Christmas eve and Christmas day.

For all the other dates, specifically 12/19 thru 12/23, I think I will wait till we get down there and then see what is available.

:crazy2: Am I nuts....or what??? :crazy2:

No, you aren't nuts!- as long as you won't be expecting your choice of times at certain restaurants once you arrive. You should stil be able to make ADR's on property but it maybe for restaurants you don't want to dine in and not so hot times!

If you're ok with not getting into your 1st (or 2nd) choice restaurants, and waiting for a table to open up, then go for it. Try to at least call for ARs while you are there, and have an idea od what you want.

I am a type-A planner, and the idea of "winging it" makes me a bit faint :faint: - but if you can do it, great. Just be prepared to be possibly eating at more CS places than you intended.

What I hope to do is call 1 to 2 days ahead and give them a list of 2 or 3 restaurants with A scheduled time anywhere between 6 and 9 PM. I figure if I am this flexible it may be OK.

We did this all the time in the "old PDP days" ;) (Pre Dining Plan) with complete success.

Some of the restaurants we are thinking of doing this with are Teppanyacki, Marakesh, LeCellier, Spoodles, 50's Prime time, Le Chefs, Nine Dragons, Concourse Steakhouse, Kona

The only problem with that plan I see is Le Cellier- it has been booking up very fast. You might not get in at all if you wait that long- maybe that would be one you could book before you arrive.

Great suggestion. I am pretty sure we could do that.

From what I've heard it's super busy that time of year. My friend was just there for 10days starting the day after xmas. She only made 2 adr's and that's all she got. She ate at the food court of POP the whole time and was really disappointed. I'm a planner when it comes this. I would look up past park hours and schedule around that. You can always cancel once you are there. :earboy2:

We will be there the week before Christmas, which I understand is not very crowded early in the week but gets more crowded as you approach the holiday. We will definitely make ADR's for Christmas day (Sun.), Christmas eve (Sat.) and for that Friday.

But you bring up a very good point. That there would be nothing wrong with making a bunch of ADR's and cancelling them if you do not plan to use them. Even making multiple ADR's for the same restaurant and using the one that fits into our schedule.
