Am I nuts? 3 out of 5 days at MK?

We just extended our trip from 3 days at the parks to 4. We were gonna do MK, MGM, and MK again. I had pretty much decided on AK for our extra day but my kids, ds5 and dd2, have a nice zoo nearby that they go to pretty frequently. Furthermore, the heat in beginning of October might be hard on them with all of that walking. Epcot doesn't really appeal all that much at this age level. Maybe next trip when they are 5 and 8.

so...maybe I'll just add an extra morning at MK. Is there enough for them to do there? Here's the general itinerary:

Sunday: Mk in morning, swim and nap in afternoon, Cindy's/MNSSHP at night
Monday: sleep in, MGM in afternoon/Mama Melrose/fantasmic
Tuesday: AK in am, relax at ft wilderness in PM (our resort)/Whispering Cany.
Wed: MK in am, character lunch, relax at ft wilderness, Ohana's

So, should I dump AK to make MK a more leisurely experience? Too bad we can't go to the water park on a base ticket. They'd LOVE that.

If you're having doubts about AK then skip it and save it for next time. AK is not a Zoo at all. The Safari is just one attraction. They do have a petting zoo at Rafiki's Planet Watch but you can simply skip that. I'm sure your children will enjoy Tarzan Rocks, It's Tough to be a Bug, Lion King show and Camp Minnie-Mickey. It's your call. Whatever you decide to do have fun!

We had 9 1/2 park days. My kids are much older than yours (14, 12, and 9) and we spent by far the most time at Mk.

Friday - AK
Sat. - MK
Sun. - Epcot Future World
Mon. - MGM
Tues. - MK
Wed. - AK/DTD
Thurs. - MK
Fri. - Epcot World Showcase
Sat. - MGM

Sunday was our departure day. We could go to any park from 9-12:30. What park did they choose? MK!

Don’t feel silly. DS14 and I went this past Springbreak and we spent at least part of 4 of our 6 days at MK. We spent one morning there and the rest were when we would hop over at the end of the day to ride Splash or BTMRR. I, for one, cannot get enough of MK. We have a nice zoo about 2 hours away from us so didn’t really think we would go to AK again. Our last trip it was so hot and I just was not impressed. This last trip it was not hot and now I love AK. You can always do AK until after lunch and then hop over to MK.

We are 3 adults and here was our schedule the last 2 trips:

Nov. -
Sun. MK / MGM
Mon. AK/EPCOT
Tues. MGM / MK
Wed. MK
Thurs. MK

June -
Sun. MK
Mon. EPCOT
Tues. MK
Wed. MGM
Thurs. MK
Fri. AK / MGM
Sat. MK

Magic Kingdom is our FAVORITE! We never run out of things to see and do and spend a lot of time repeating our favorites!

I applaud you, so many people try to squezze so much in and the kids end up crabby and whiny and then parents end up stressed. You know your family, read these boards and brush up on maps. But do what your family will like. You sound like you have a nice relaxing trip planned. You can't do it all and when they are older they will have something different to look forward to. Our family also usually spends more time at MK. Don't forget the activities at FW, campfire, electric light boat parade, movies after sing a long. have fun.

I'm trying to keep the vacation in our vacation. We're hoping the kids will enjoy ft. wilderness almost as much as the parks. Plus, we will definitely go back in 3 years when they are 5 and 8. Next year is disney cruise year!

thank you all for your comments. I feel much more confident with our decision to keep it simple and enjoy two parks more leisurely.

Yes your nuts.

Just kidding :)

Animal Kingdom is notazoo! It has lots of things for little ones to do, actually I find it appeals to young kids and adults but not older kids as much. You can always rent a stroller, we did up till last year when our kids were 6 and 8.

I get sick of fighting the crowds in MK, but if you know you are going back the next day it is not as bad (you can just skip a bad line). DO make use of the fast pass system, it is great in MK. Go for the mornings and be there at open and you will beat the heat and the crowds :)

Go and enjoy. MK will be so much more fun for you because you will not need to rush around to fit things in. The kids are going to love FW, great pool!
