i asked this question on the BC/YC thread but not getting much response. We usually rent points for Boardwalk for our Disney trips, as I love the Epcot resort area but don't like the prices. Yesterday I was browsing AP rates for a possible end of January 2018 trip. (Still waiting to hear if renting points is a possibility this late in the game) I came across the Yacht Club for $277. This looked out of place for me as Beach Club was like $650 and Boardwalk was $500ish. Am I missing something? Is Yacht Club usually this much less than the other Epcot resorts? Is there a major refurb going on?

We have only stayed at Boardwalk in this area, so I'm wondering how it compares. It looks beautiful and I assumed it was similar to the Beach Club. Is $277 a good rate?

Nope, what you see is correct. The lowest nightly rate for the cheapest room category at YC this Jan looks like it’s $415 rack. The AP discount for YC (for dates when available) is 35%.

Love when the AP discount is 35% - I’d jump on that!

You'll love yacht club! Usually we stay BC (between the two) but have done YC once and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. They are VERY similar, being connected and all, but YC is much much laid back, chill. Hopefully it's warm enough for you to enjoy Stormalong Bay.

I was wondering the same thing- got a pin code and was able to get the YC for $305 / night in January? Seemed like a great deal. It didn't say anything about refurb or construction going on.

I'm assuming you are all aware that YC now allows dogs but thought I'd put it out there just in case. My family will never stay there (assuming the policy sticks) due to allergies. Hopefully that's not an issue for anyone snagging great rates!

Not an issue for us, but good to know, thanks!

Are other deluxe's offering this kind of deep discount?

Funny you ask as I was just doing this research this AM.

Resort / Gift of Magic Room Offer / AP Spring Room Offer
GF / 25% / 35%
Poly / 10% / 20%
CR / 10% / 20%
WL / 10% / 20%

BC / 25% / 35%
YC / 25% / 35%
BWI / 25% / 35%

AKL / 25% / 35%

Valid select nights 1/1/2018-4/14/2018

The AP discount seemed to have more weekend exclusions based on my random sampling. Also availability is obviously the tricky part with both offerings.

It's always interesting to me to see where Disney feels compelled to offer discounts to fill rooms during certain times of year.

Hope that helps.

Looking at it this way, very interesting. Epcot resorts seems to need some guests. GF, hmmm.

Well, GF rack rates are among the highest of them all, so there's that.

I'm speaking in broad, general terms but I find GF has better discounts early in the year and then it whipsaws the other way in the back half of the year for things like October, Jersey Week, the holidays, etc.

And obviously the unknown is availability/inventory of said discount. :-)

Availability is everything. They can throw all the offers out they want, making it look sweet, but if there is no availability ... :rolleyes1

Actually, the Yacht Club & Beach Club rates are pretty much the same. That rate is for a standard view room at YC. Beach Club doesn't seem to have standard view available for any dates I have checked. Anything at BC is a better view category which accounts for the higher price.

There is nothing you are missing as far as construction or rehabs OP. The YC just finished a complete redo of the rooms. Only other things are the convention center construction which doesn't effect rooms.

The GF will have one of their pools down during that time too, I believe. The one with the water slide.

I booked the Disney Visa rate garden view at the Yacht Club for late February 2018. Base $326.95 or $367.82 with tax.

I once nabbed a room at Poly for just under $200/night with an AP discount. I thought for sure at check in they’d say “oh no, that was a horrible mistake.” It wasn’t.
You just sometimes hit a good deal with AP discount. (Although, that rate at Poly will probably never happen again.)

I did too! Sadly those says are gone  Occasionally you find a great deal. Once we scored a AKL CL room for less than just an Arusha view without CL. Crazy. I think that rate was a mistake, but we got it.
