Am I making a big dining plan mistake?

I booked Spirit of Aloha on our last night at DW. I have been thinking about how they say they can cancel it due to weather. Well...that is our last night and we have to leave early the next morning. If they cancel it I would have two TS credits unused! So...is it worth the risk or should I book two other TS meals? My boys (9 and 11) want to go, but maybe it is too risky. Please share your thoughts.

What about a signature restaurant as a backup, other than California Grill they may not be that difficult to get into.

I believe you said you're staying at AKL. Maybe a reservation for Jiko. It might be nice to end your vacation close to "home base"

We've done Boma and Jiko and personally we find Jiko to be quite different than Boma. We actually enjoy Jiko more than Boma.

If you go to Jiko - I recommend the Taste of Africa appetizer and Mt Kili(something) as an adult beverage.

How soon is your trip? Can you possibly switch reservations around to make this one earlier during your stay?

Unfortunately the week we go in Jan. Spirit of Aloha is closed except for our last night there. I would like to go, but also am fearful of it being cancelled and losing out of two TS credits.

Two years ago, we showed up at the Poly only to find out that the show was cancelled. The concierge staff worked very hard to get us in somewhere, anywhere! How about a different show, like Hoop de Doo?

I agree try to book the Hoop De Doo, we have been the the HOOP 3 times and the Luau once, and I wouldn't mind going to the HOOP every time we go to the MK. The one time to the Luau was probably our only time.

We have decided to cancel the Spirit of Aloha. Part of me is bummed as I thought it would be an exciting, unique experience. But we've decided that instead of spending two credits for it we should just make two other TS reservations and spend our last nights in the parks.

I am not sure also if this is something that they do all the time, but while I was last there they offered that you could exchange TS for something else. I believe it was CS and a bag or snacks or something. Not the best of value for your credits in some cases, but if they still do this it would at least be another option in the event that they did cancel.

If you cancel the Luau (looks like you did) and have extra TS to use up try using a TS for a breakfast at Crystal Palace or Boma. Love the puffy french toast and made to order omlet at Crystal Palace.

Tomorrow I am going to call and redo our ADRS. My plan if it works is to cancel the Spirit of Aloha in exchange for Lunch at Le Cellier (keep your fingers crossed) and Planet Hollywood. We already had ADRS at Crystal Palace, Boma, Teppan Edo, Tusker House, and Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Dinner Package. We'll see how it works out tomorrow.

Try for Coral Reef if you don't get your first choice of LeCellier.

By the way the line is open until 10pm tonight, so you can try tonight too. We also loved Chef Mickey's as another TS option. Many like Kona at the Poly if you still want a meal there.

Oh, I didn't know they were open on Sundays. It is too late now, so I'll still try tomorrow. I did look at Coral Reef and thought that looked good also. I'll have to look at Kona's menu.

I have called WDW dine 4 times (I can't make up my mind...) Twice, it's been on a Sunday afternoon and I spent zero time on hold. I canceled my San Angel Inn reservation after I got an Akerhus one instead. I couldn't stand the anticipation of waiting to see if San Angel made the 2009 DDP list, and read a review saying it's not what it used to be---the reason we chose that one was b/c DH loved it as a child.
