Am I just really outta the loop or did eveyone else know about the 75 Mickeys

Thanks for the terrific pictures. I wish they were leaving them there for longer. Does the set-up look temporary (like this week only) to you. The CM on the phone today said they will be spread between all 4 parks, both water parks and all resorts, making it a true "hunt" to find all 75.

I have heard so many things I just don't know what to believe. They ARE going to be scattered, it's just a question of where.

I heard just at MK as that is Mickey's vacation home. I heard that more than I heard all over property. I only heard that once.

It is my understanding (ALWAYS SUBJECT TO CHANGE) that they would be disbursed tonight. But then I heard something to the contrary later today so ... I'll keep you kids posted.

Going back and naming the ones I can. We'll just make this a quiz. Which name could possibly go with which mouse? As you can see I could not see the statue title on many or who ispired them.

Glad everybody likes these. This has been a whole night of work here. PHEW!

It didn't click about Mickey's birthday until I realized how old he was....75!! My DH and DM would have been that age if they were still alive.
3 cool people all born in the same year!

Some are real easy to tell who they were inspired by, and some are just kinda strange.

What I have heard is that they will be disbursed to all four parks. I am not sure yet how long they will be on display before departing on a 12-city tour over the course of 18 months...and then eventually going up for auction, with each statue's proceeds benefiting the charity of it's designer's choice

I can't wait to see them. We will be there next week and were thrilled to hear that they would be there while we were there. Heard about this earlier this year - summer, I think.

They are all great. Elton John did one and so did Ellen Degeneres - Her's is based on her character Dory from "Finding Nemo".

Annette Funicello also did one. The one by Jamie Lee Curtis is technology based. My DD is in the Technology Academy at her high school and wants to print this one out from her Tech teacher. She said she definitely wants to get a picture of it.

Just got back. We were there for the Fifth Dimension, Chubby Checker, Food and Wine and Masters over at Downtown. Was too late for Three Dog Night and too early for Mickey's birthday. Think I will just move in and then I would not miss anything. (grin)

Have been told that I can work as a castmember for a day on our next trip. I am in hog heaven!

Wonder what the costs would be for a single home-size-shelf statue?

After the unveiling, the statues will remain at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom through April 2004 for guests to enjoy. From there, the statues are presently scheduled to visit Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Kansas City, Houston, Dallas, Portland, Disneyland, Washington D.C. and New York City.
