Okay so Here's the Question: When I brought up the idea of having a Disney Escape wedding to DF he was like "That's great, if they take care of everything, we can get married even sooner. We should do it in May" :scared1: And I'm now trying to figure out if I can pull a wedding together that fast? We live in Minnesota and we would have people flying in from three states, but I'm not sure I can pull it off. What do you guys think can I have a May 2009 Wedding?????

I have been told DFTW Escape team can pulll and Escape wedding together in like 4 weeks...you just wouldn't have your choice of location or time...

You should call them and find out what they can do for you!

HTH...

:goodvibes

Phone them up! All you can do is ask - are loads of lovely ladies on here to help you out too!:goodvibes

Thanks, I just put in a Call to the Disney Wedding Planners and they said they would have a consultant call me back, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and I'm going to be on pins and needles. I'll Keep you posted. Anyone have an idea when I might here back from them?? :)

You should hear back from them today. Good luck!!

I am sure you could do an Escape wedding for this coming May. Let us know when you hear back. We will be down the end of May for my birthday so if your wedding is then maybe we will sneak a peak.

Reading all the lovely ladies on here is what gives me hope! All the advice makes me feel like so much research has already been done for me :thumbsup2

I'm still wait to hear fro Disney, Keeping my fingers crossed!

We pulled ours together in a week! Of course, our guest list consisted of 3 folks and we didn't have invitations, etc. But, it was done and they were very helpful!

Do it! It'll be so exciting and you wont have time to angoize over things that don't matter and dealing with family issues that seem to arrise with every wedding. People wont have time to complain! haha. Good Luck!!

Okay so If I do this that I what I'm going to continually remind myself, you did it in a week and I have like two months...plenty of time :rotfl2:

Don't give me too much credit!! :) First off, my DH and Amy Riendeau (our WP) did most of it. Secondly, I knew all along we'd still have the big shebang in Jan. So I didn't have any "we have to do this, because it's our once-in-a-lifetime shot!" moments.

It was basically...

Location...Sunset Pointe (it had to be!)
Bouquet...tropical, please!
Cake...this flavor sounds good
Songs for the violinist...Disney (probably the hardest decision)
Lodging...DH called Disney
Wedding Clothes...a couple trips to the local bridal salon and to H&M
Wedding Rings...his at a jewelry store here in Germany...mine at DHS the day before the wedding (we hadn't bought my e-ring yet)
B'fast after wedding...Kona Cafe ADR
Hair and Makeup...borrowed Lurkyloo's recommendation of Patricia LeJeune
Reverend...Rev. Day (off of DFTWs list)

Everything else was stock or automatic decisions. We used Disney photography and the limo that comes with the package. We didn't have any other "Extras" although our WP coordinated for a town car to take us to the court house to get the Marriage License. But, as long as Disney is coordinating your "extras" it's fairly easy.

Thanks, that is what I am hoping for!!!! But I imagine certain people will make the time lol boo haters!

As soon as she asked this I thought of your escape wedding! I always thought this was so amazing!

So Update: Next morning and I'm still waiting to hear back from Disney! I'm so nervous I just want to know if this is possible of not. I'll keep you guys posted :)

I do NOT get that!!! How is having YOUR wedding where YOU and YOUR fiance want SELFISH?? I've heard that so many times from brides on this board (that they hear this from their families) and in wedding magazines, and I think it's the most absurd thing EVER. If you DEMANDED that she go or something like that, I would get it. It's so ridiculous to hear someone make a SELFISH comment about them as a GUEST demanding things of the COUPLE getting married.

Okay...off my rant. Sorry for all the caps. There are things I will never understand!

I'm glad the rest of your family is supportive!

I can think of a few things to tell her... none of them appropriate for this board though :rotfl2: ! I agree though, just say it is your wedding not hers and if it is that inconveinent for her, she is not obligated.

Errrr people can be so wacky sometimes!

Omg!! Im going though the same this with my dad!! He told me that yesterday and I wanted to :scared1: But dont worry about it its YOUR wedding!! Tell her to shut up!! And she doesn't have to come!! People like that make me sooo mad

We recently had to deal with drama with DF's family. His uncle told someone that they were being invited to our wedding when they are not. DF doesn't even know the guy, now his mom, uncle, and grandmother are all in a tizzy over this. We just keep saying that we are at out max for catering and it is our wedding (of course then they come back at us if we went with a ceremony site that his uncle suggested, catering would have been free, but we did not like the location at all). :confused3 We want people to come that we know and not just met one or two times. Then his mom was upset that he invited some cousins from her step mom's side, but they had to be invited for his other grandmother to come. It was important to us for her to be able to make it, and we didn't want her to have to drive by herself over an hour to get to our wedding site. DRAMA!!!! I am just glad that my mom was supportive when there were a few people that I didn't care to invite because I barely knew them.

So, just keep reminding yourself that it is your day, breathe, and relax! There will always be drama, but you have to put it aside and have fun!

Good luck with the planning! :thumbsup2
