Am I Insane???????

I must be insane wanting to go back to disney with a 1 year old when we go. But I want Kendyll to take some of her first steps there. I love Disney. Our last trip of 2 weeks there wasn't enough to my liking. Anyways...on to the questions.
#1. Does anyone know if a baby/toddler age 1 can go in the Disney pools? This means Blizzard Beach and at the resorts...mainly POP.

#2.Seriously....Am I nuts for taking her to Disney? I figure I can still swap on some rides.

#3. Does anyone have any help tips for me about taking a baby. What is important to bring or to do.

#4. Do the Disney buses still make you take the child out of the stroller and pack it up or will they allow you now to leave it out with child in it for the ride and just use the chair lift to load it on the bus?

I know there is a ton more questions....but just can't remember them right now.

1. Babies are required to wear swim diapers in the pools, but yes, they are allowed. Admittedly, Blizzard Beach isn't a whole lot of fun with a baby, but you can trade off.

2. Not nuts at all, as long as you realize you're taking the trip for you, not for her. No reason to not have her tagging along though. Like you said, you can swap. And there are things she will enjoy.

3. Bring your own diapers and swim diapers. Also, know your baby and what works for her. There are the baby care centers if she's too distractable to nurse comfortably on any old bench, or if she needs the quiet to fall asleep. Also, bring a baby sling because you can't keep her in the stroller in lines and in some other places. I've always liked the maya wrap style slings or new native style pouches for travel as they fold up small when you're not using them.

4. Yes, you must take the baby out of the stroller and fold it up on the busses. The only transportation methods you can leave the baby in the stroller for are the monorail and some of the larger boats. Make sure you choose your stroller with this in mind.

First of all i love your Dd's name ..my Kendyll is 4..
Anyway no you are not insane..we have been to WDW MANY, MANY times with our children at all different ages and it has been a blast everytime! We started going when my 5 yo was about 8 months old and have been back at least 1-2 times(this year 3..lol) a year since.

1)Yes the babies can go in the pools with swim diapers on.
2 )She can go a a lot of rides with you and you can use the child swap for the bigger rides..We were just there in November,my dd Brynn just tured 1 and went on everything she could and LOVED every minute of it.
3) For the baby defiinitely bring diapers, wipes and swim diapers, any snacks she may be eating, bottles and formula..if you are bottle feeding..if you are nursing its much easier ...
I always made sure i brought something my girls liked..stuffed animal, blankie, anything to make them more comfy in the hotel. If she wil be using the pack and play(or crib) i would bring a sheet from home, that way it smells like home for her to sleep.
I bring my Mei Tei carrier and sling with me, that way if my kids were alseep and we were going on a ride i didn't have to wake them, and it saves your arms while standing in lines.
Take LOTS of pictures with the characters (if she allows it), my girls LOVED all of them and we have great pics from all of the trips we have taken.
September is still hot...we usually get up early and get to the parks at opening and stay until around lunch time, then head back to the resort and swim or nap...then we head back to the parks around dinner time. Make sure you all drink lots of water...
Its still the rainy season too...bring a rain cover for the stroller and ponchos, but hopefully you'll have great weather!!
4) you will have to take the baby out of the stroller for the buses..take a comfy lightweight stroller that reclines and has a basket.

You can have water shipped to your resort from Staples.com (for free if you join their free rewards program)saves lots of $$ on buying bottled water all week.

Hi, I just wanted to add - I tell my sister and sil all the time - when the kids ae so young, unless parents really, really want/need to go, they will be fine at one of the disney resort themed pools all day. No need to hit BB/TL yet. They are easily entertained there.

Also, if you enjoy going to WDW so often and you do have young ones - you should look into Disney Vacation Club. You can really feel like you're home and relax. I wish I had known and taken a tour many, many years ago.

Go and have fun - take it easy and be flexible with her schedule.

My son is 19 months and we're going later this month. His first trip was at 14 months, then we had to take him back to MK for a day when he was 16 months. He absolutely loved Small World and it was worth the price of admission (a high one at that) to see the look on his face. He won't remember the trip, but our memories are priceless.

Here's an other question .....

for the rooms at POP they say that you can ask for a crib or pack and play.... where do they put these in the room? The rooms are so tiny as it is.... the only spot I can think of is between the closet and the TV...in that dead space....or maybe where the table is?

I would say wherever you could fit it..lol... We co-sleep, so we just get bed rails.... sorry i couldn't be more helpful...

#1. Put on the swimmines and take a float. Obviously you are not gonna run her down the slides.

#2.Take her why not. Take pictures and video for her to see when she's older.

#3. The usual baby gear. Don't get carried away you can always make do and buy goodies there at the grocery store.

#4. Yes, they do. But if the bus isn't fool you may get a cool driver depending on the stroller size.

At Epcot, my son liked the ride in Mexico, and now they have a new Nemo ride. Also, Spaceship Earth and Energy Adventures should be fine.

FL law requires that children be removed from their strollers on the bus. If the monorail is full, you will have to remove your child from the stroller there, too. And, sometimes, you will have to remove the child from the stroller on the boats as well.

You're so not insane. My littles ones loved Disney from the time they were old enough to pick their heads up. Last time we took our baby, she was 10 months, and she had so much fun. We took her to Magic Kingdom, and she rode everything except the mountains. We just held her in our laps! She really loved Small World, the Carousel, Pooh, and the teacups (we just didn't spin the cup). At Animal Kingdom, she liked the parade and just walking around (but they BOTH hated the Tough to be a Bug show... you might want to skip that one). She'll love it, and you will have a good time.

By the way... your postcard is going in the mail today.

Now i'm excited to go. I figured that she could go on maybe 3 or 4 things but I forgot about all those sit down rides like "Snow White" and "Small World". How could I forget that. Now I have that song in my head again. I'm sure that she will love it too. By the way I'm sending you another PM about scuba diving in Florida if you know anything about it. we went to disneyworld with our one year old twins! ( i felt like the best mommy IN THE WORLD!)

anyway i wanted to address a couple of the things that we experienced that i didnt see posted already.

1st thing. bring your sweet daughter to the barber shop in magic kingdom AS SOON AS IT OPENS! it is next to the city hall tucked almost around a corner! anyway, if you are there for her "first haircut" she will get mickey ears that say first haircut and you get clippings (my son had alot of hair, my daughter, somewhat follicly "challenged" so i allowed them to cut one curl)
with mickey glitter etc. and a certificate. very cute and great thing to do with a one year old.!!

also... we had two small umbrella strollers and one of us holding both kids while one of us handled the strollers was a PAIN getting on the bus for transportation!!!! even with one child, the bus drivers seemed to "take off" before we were situated and seated (especially on a crowded bus) honestly, i may blame it on the fact that there were quite a few drivers "in training" when we were there (unless they all have other drivers watching over their shoulders) BUT.. just make sure that you are ready to go when that bus comes! you should be fine.

have the best time ever.!! my kids remember only a few things but at that age we took them on lots of rides (even haunted mansion).

oh, and dining plan works great too. we went to very expensive restaurants and the kids just had a bit of what we were having. we actually got appetizers and dessert for the first time since they were born!

my husband has put together a trip for my b-day this year so we will be seeing buzz and woody and mickey and the princesses too.

i cant wait!!!

WOW....Thanks for the tips....especially the one about the first hair cut. I will have to do that forsure. I'm so excited to go now since you went with 1 year old twins and if you can do it so can I. Glad you had a good time in Disney...so when is the next trip for you?

we are going the week of june 17th- 22nd.

we were originally going to stay in all star movies (my son LOVES buzz and woody), but my husband spilled the beans about my big bday plan so i could do the plan-ing. i am sooo much better at finding the "deals".

so instead, i cxld all star movies and rented points from the disney vacation club folks and we are staying at the villas at wilderness lodge for that sun-fri. it ended up costing us about 110 per night for these great rooms with kitchenettes in them too!!. i just wanted to do something a little more special since it was my b-day (i would rather plan most of the details anyway. he got nervous by the thought that you can make ressies for restaraunts 180 days in advance)
however, we have planned to do mostly character meals because the kids just LOVED em. almost have all that nailed down

my twins will be one month away from turning three so they can still do everything for free (thank Goodness) its hard with my husbands income (special ed teacher) to stretch that buck far enough to disney with all the things to do/see etc. but i can do it!!

i cant wait!!!
