i just changed reservation from port orleans riverside to caribbean am i going to regret this the port orleans i think my kids will like the caribbean resort more. what do you think
When are you leaving? I know the main pool at Caribbean Beach Resort is closed/under construction. That is why we never thought of staying there when we go in August.
We stayed at CBR several times when our daughter was little ... loved it! POR is nice as well so either way it was/will be fine. You're going to Disney World, it will be a great trip, stop worrying!
We prefer the rustic feel of the Bayou Port Orleans Riverside, but I'd be "almost" as happy at the Carribean Beach! Don't worry! Our family (with two young children) have stayed at both resorts and I don't think you will regret it. They basically both offer the same things (waterways for boat rental, bikes, a fun pool, food court ...)
Our family enjoyed CBR a lot more than POR. I would get a preferred room so you are closer to Port Royale and transportation. The walk back at POR from the bus stop to your room seem to last forever and with kids, that is torture after a long day at the park. I really think the kids will like CBR better. I know my 7 year old did! Have fun!
We have never stayed at either (we like it at the CSR). But we have gone to both and eaten at both and preferred the food court at POR over Caribbean. And also, the pool at Caribbean is closed until at least mid-September.
thank you for your post. we are going on land/sea package will be there 24sept i know they said pool is suppose to be done 14th or 15 sept. just have to have some pixie dust throne my way. Son commented on PORS and said it looked like our home town ? we live in canada! lol he thought the cbr looked cool. i am sure either place would knock his socks off. we have been twice and stayed at POP, and MUSIC so i am sure he will be happy.
I agree with a previous poster about the preferred location. We were in the back of the hotel and had to use the intra disney bus system for going to the food court (it was December). We have also stayed at the POR. I love the theme of the CBR, actually over the POR. I would not stay at the CBR again unless in a perferred room. I loved the beach feel and the kid's meal at the food court came in a sand bucket! This was a plus to my daughter. I think you will enjoy the hotel! Have a great time and don't worry...your're going to Disney World!
CBR - one big pirate pool and small quite pools for each 'village'.
No elevators - so you may want to ask for a 1st floor room.
Ditto on preferred location.
Gorgeous grounds to walk around.
We went to eat lunch there one day and to see the resort.
Our teen kids like deluxes better - but for younger families, CBR looks like a great place to stay.
Definitely agree on the preferred location (I think they are Martinique and Trinidad North). If you don't want to pay extra for preferred, the closest you can get is building 45 in Jamaica or building 51 in Aruba. They are on the other side of the lake, with Old Port Royale easily reachable via a footbridge.
CBR is much nicer than POR, IMO. To me its a vacation in a vacation I love the feel of the islands.............and since you will be there when the new pool will be open, you will have a great time. ENJOY
FYI I just made my November reservation yesterday we will be staying there, we are very excited.
We've stayed at both POR and CBR. DH prefers CBR. I'm happy at either since it means I'm at WDW! Your son will LOVE the new pool though--that is a huge plus for CBR!
thank you all for the responses, my mom is in a wheelchair so i hope we get a room close to everything but i will cope with whatever we get. Cant wait it seems so long from now. I saw a post saying they are wishing the summer away i can relate to that.
