Am I going to regret these Fun in the Sun passes?

We bought FITS passes from discount orlando MONTHS ago, long before they stopped selling them or had any sort of warning on their website. At the time we bought them, people were thrilled with them and had used them without problems, according to all the reports we got back here on the boards.

Now they seem to be taboo. No longer being sold online, nobody's mentioning their use, and Disney is completely changing their ticketing structure.

I'm taking my parents and my parents-in-law to the World with us using these tickets, and I can't imagine the stress we'd have if they didn't work out for us.

My parents have never had an actual vacation before and my mother is terminal (though slow-acting so she is not in imminent danger of death) so I really want them to have magic!

I wouldn't worry about it. I'd say that the reason why the tickets disappeared was that disney was getting ready for the new tickets and wants to get the old tickets out of the market.
Same thing for the lack of reports on them. As they become less available, less people will be using them.
Go on your trip, have fun, and enjoy your time with your mother.

That sounds about right Leftcoaster.

Don't worry about it, just go and have a great time.

Have a great time!

I planned a trip last June for a co-worker and I recommended these passes to her since they wanted to due everything without limitations. (she wanted all the Magic LOL)!
She purchased from Paramount and they worked great and they had a great time!

I actually think that the FITS passes would be a better deal than the new MYW passes if you are purchasing tickets that are going to expire in 14 days. I dont think we will see these again.

I know how you feel cuddle. We recently bought these passes (and I think we may have been one of the last) and have been concerned about having problems with them. Since we won't be using them until March, we have all of this time to think about everything that can go wrong. It is also easy to try and relate in some way, the things we worry about with FITS to the new ticket program.

Ultimately, I believe it is a very low probability that we will be completely denied. I believe Leftcoaster has it right, the FITS passes have kinda disappeared b/c WDW wanted to clear the decks for new media. I also personally believe that WDW may have put pressure on the brokers who were selling these passes to US citizens to cease and desist, which is another reason you're not hearing much about them.

At the end of the day, there have still been no reports of anyone being turned away and only few reports of people being "hassled". Furthermore, with nothing on the voucher that states US citizens are prohibited from using them, it is unimaginable to me that WDW would push the envelope with guests and take the hard line. In the grand scheme of things, the number of "unintended" guests that will use these passes is extremely small relative to all of the other types of ticket media that exist.

I know this won't make you feel much better (b/c I don't imagine I will feel completely secure until I have successfully exchanged my vouchers 3-months hence), but I really think this will turn out okay for you and you'll be really, really happy with the FITS passes.

I purchased mine back in May of this year and just used them on our trip in Oct/Nov. There was no problem using them. The CM was really nice! Don't worry and have a great trip!!!

I would think at the worst Paramount or disney would have to refund your $ and you could use it to buy new passes.

:flower1: I checked the discount orlando web site today and it list the 30 FITS pass with the expiration of April 2005. We will be in WDW on 12/17/04 for 10 days and I am going to purchase these passes, however I am still a little nervous, hopefully there will be no problems. They will be perfect for us because it gives us more options than the 7 day UPH because we are there for 10 days and also go to Quest. I emailed Disney about these tickets a while back and they have never responded to my email. I am going to purchase them and hope for the best.

I'm looking at the FITS passes for our trip in Jan / Feb 2005 and are pretty certain that they are the ones to go for.
I emailed discountorlando today and they told me that their passes might not be on their site but will be available.
My DH is terminal but, hopefully, not close to death :-) so we need to know that we can visit the parks for a few minutes if necessary :-)
I'll be travelling to WDW in Feb 2005 from the UK, with my family, and think the FITS passes are the easiest option too (dh and dd age 6) .
I keep trying to wait until my visa bill date but think I'm fighting a losing battle ;-)

I am still hoping that those passes will be available next summer, as they are still the best option for us, we will be there for 14 days, and go to waters parks, all 4 parks, Disney quest, and Pleasure island.... We used to buy PAP, but are only going once this year.
