Alright, I've backtracked to read a few of the previous pages and wanted to address 2 things.



Erm, just wanted to clarify that, I don't know what you did when you were 3, 8, and 10, but I, along with a lot of other friends of mine kissed as kids. Do you really consider kids kissing sexual and, or wrong? What about when kids have to kiss for a movie? Are you really ethically opposed to that too?

My 2nd point has to do with all who say it's provocative. I can certianly understand how they think of the routine that way, but that's where my first post come into relevance.

So because the way they're raised isn't the way you would raise your daughter means "nobody is standing up for them"? It must be lonely up there on that pedestal. Judgmental much?

Um, I think that maybe you need to read more than just that part of my post, because from what I gather we are on the same page . I am one of the few that really don't have a problem with the dance, and I don't have any problem with the costume. I was explaining how the kids don't see the dance as sexual, they are having fun.

I see. My apologies mhsjax. Didn't consciously notice your username. If I had I would have read it in a different perspective.
However, my post stands for those who DO feel that way. People are often offended over things that shouldn't offend them.

There are some things that are just plain wrong. And this is one of those times. Am I judging by saying that? Of course. But we are all making a judgement when we comment on this video.

No, there is no one standing up for these girls. These are children. They are dressed inappropriately, they are dancing inappropriately. But it's beyond inappropriate. It's heartbreaking to watch and it's outrageous that these girls have been placed in this position. Unbelievable that no one stopped, thought, and said, "No, this is not ok for 7 year olds to do."

One of our cheer moms is heading down to Haiti in a few weeks.

Her goal was to collect 500 pairs of soffe shorts and tanks for the kids. So, at least 500 of the kids will be running around in short shorts soon. But, it is much better than the alternative, wearing nothing like they are doing now.

To keep on topic - I just showed DH, a cheer dad who has been dragged all over the country to National Competitions so has seen the skimpiest of skimpy uniforms, the video and he declared that:

"That is bordering on child porn. Walt Disney would be rolling in his grave."
