We are a family of 4 Me, DW, DD 13 DD 10, we are on the dining plan.
I was wondering if we could get your thoughts on our dining plans.
Here is what I have so far....

1st full day
O'Hana's dinner (DW favorite)

2nd day
Askerhause breakfast-(DD10 wants to see Belle)
Chefs de France-(DW's other favorite)

3rd day
50's Prime-Time-dinner (I think I want to egg on the server :teeth:)

4th day
1900 Park Fare-dinner (DD's want to see Pricesses of course)

5th day
O'Hanas Stitch Breakfast (DD 13 huge STitch fan, I like him too)

6th day
LeCellar (not sure why, had some good reviews but now I am second guessing
why I chose this place. Was thinking about Capt. Jacks, in DTD)

How'd I do? Any suggestions? Where can I improve?

Thanks, YO

I think it is fine. I have only eaten at Capt. Jack's once and it was fine but I have heard horrid reviews. Not sure I would give up Le Cellier for it.

Also since you are having a big breakfast in Norway I would do France at night and only a light lunch.

Thanks for the info, I am just worried that Le Cellar and Chefs de France I will have too similar of a meal. Is Le Cellar all that and a slice? :)

Thanks, YO

I think Chefs and Le Cellier are very different. I could be wrong IMO but I would do both one the same trip.

I agree about Norway then lunch at Chefs. You might want to do a lighter lunch at a counter service. But I WOULD try to do Chefs at some point on your trip. It's very good.

We've had lunch at Le Cellier and it was outstanding. I wouldn't trade it for Capt. Jack's - unless you plan to be in DTD that day at lunchtime. But in my opinion, there are more interesting places to eat than Capt. Jack's.

I forgot to put that Le Chefs was for dinner, we will do lunch if we have it at all, very light and OOP. I was just really thinking of the seafood you can get at Capt.nJacks. Any other places similar on the meal plan? I saw you can get lobster there and that sounds good! :teeth:

Thanks, YO

Are you sure about the lobster at CnJ's. I thought I read of a recent change. I like your selections with the exception of Akershus, but it's been so long ago that we dined there (Akershus) I shouldn't say that. I love seafood but would never trade LeCellier for CnJ's, not that I have anything against CnJ's just not in the same ballpark as LeCellier.

Alice, why ya down :confused3 on Aslerhaus?
We did CRT last time and I don't want to spend 2 TS credits to go. That is why we are doing Askerhaus. DD has to see Belle! More than once if possible

I just learned of Capt-n-Jacks, and the guy had a picture of his meal with 2 lobster tails on it. I'll have to check again and see if they have now put an exclusion on it. Now if I can find that thread again.

Still looking for seafood alternatives to Capt-n-Jacks. Anyone :rolleyes1

Thanks, YO

This was a long time ago almost "back in the day" ;) my 2 DD's ate at total of 2 boiled eggs and a 2" X 2" piece of ham, and I didn't really find that much that I was interested in either. I guess I hold a grudge, :p I really should have kept my BIG mouth shut, I'm pretty sure the menu is much improved. If it's not be sure to post here and let us know. Did you find out anything about CnJ's excluding lobster? I have heard they did at Teppanyaki's.

If dd needs to see Belle, check out the story garden with Belle times at MK, right next to the castle. It's aimed at the younger crowd, but is a great opportunity to see her up close, and maybe even get a hug :goodvibes

You might want to start another thread asking if there was ever a time Belle was not at Akershus. None of the characters are guarantees, but I THINK Belle is always there. I'd hate to have dd disappointed! ;) Sometimes you can catch her and the beast in france, too. And don't miss the stained glass window in France, right out of the movie, it's gorgeous! ::yes::

I have family that just ate at Fulton's in DTD in March and really liked it. If you're looking for seafood that might fit the bill. Has anyone else eaten there and liked it?

Alice, you got me off my lazy duff and I looked up the menu at allears :)
here's the menu:
Food is brought to your table Family Style

Fresh Seasonal Fruit
Bacon
Sausage
Scrambled Eggs
French Toast
Potato Casserole
Biscuits
Cinnamon Rolls

:) I can live with that, not the best menu I've seen but hey I get to see Belle too. She's kinda cute. Like my DD

I must say this is a really great board. We have Texans and Oklahomans all working together to help everyone :teeth:

hockeybabe, thanks for the heads up on the Belle opportunities. :goodvibes
I did see a thread before that talked about how Belle was kinda the main attraction and she is usually there. I know we may miss out but hey then I'd just have to scramble like some QB from Texas.

I've heard good things about Fultons, but they aren't on the meal plan and I want to use that as much as possible, if ya know what I mean.

Thanks ya'll

Ya mean you wish you could scramble like some QB from Texas ;)

Which dining plan do you have and how many nights are you staying? You have a lot of TS meals and on the standard MYW+ dining you will run out of credits. Are you paying cash for some of the meals? I guess I'm confused. :confused3

Tink, I think he's got an extra day since you pay by nights stayed. That's happening to us, 7 days at the parks but 8 nights, so 8 days of credits. We're using our "extra" TS for the HDD show.
Coachyo, we don't have even one of the same ressies picked, but I like all of yours.

Tinker, jennief is right. We are staying 7 nights so we have 7 TS meals. None of these will be out of pocket.

Hey Alice, I scramble just fine. Eggs that is. :rotfl2: Who's gonna draft him?
Are ya Houston Texan fan? You'll like coach Kubiak

jennief, where are going with your TS and do ya have a plan for the CS meals? not sure how to get the most out of ours yet.

Thanks, YO

Coach, we're planning on bringing granola bars and some cereal and eating some breakfast in our rooms as we get ready to leave- so the kids (big and little!) don't get grumpy. We're staying at the ASMu and figure we can get 1-2 adult breakfast combos to eat in the room and supplement with our own food.
Here are my ADRS and I've added the CS so you can see what we are doing:
Saturday dinner: Mama Melrose: at MGM- Flatbread Grill for lunch
Sunday Breakfast: Donald Breakfast at AK- Flame Tree for lunch
Monday Dinner- Kona at the Polynesian Resort- Cosmic Rays for lunch
Tuesday lunch- Garden Grill at Epcot (character lunch)- Earls for dinner
Wednesday dinner- Hoop De Doo Revue show at Wilderness Lodge- Tusker for late morning meal
Thursday Dinner- Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary-Columbia House lunch
Friday dinner- Coral Reef at Epcot- Breakfast at ABC commisary and lunch ?? depending on when we hop to Epcot. Late night at Epcot so may use some CS for a late night meal.

We've got 32 credits and I'm planning on sharing most CS meals so right now I'm using 22 according to my spreadsheat. I figure I'll plan it this way and then if we want to grab late night meals or not share then I have 10 credits to play with. It's the snack credits that are getting me. We won't have a car so am thinking I'll use them for water (I love Dasani) and pay out of pocket if/when we run out for other snacks.

Hope that helps.

jennie, looks great! :thumbsup2 8 nights at the world sounds great. We have 7 and I wish it was more. I'me hoping we can share so of the CS meals too and stretch them a little. We are more of a breakfast and early dinner type group with a light snack between, so I am gonna see how we can get the most out of the breakfast selections. I'm thinking right at POR foodcourt will have some good fixins for us. Have a great trip.

Yo, have fun! I'll be posting reviews when I come back, so even though we don't have the same TS I'll let you know how our CS worked out.
Originally I was a bit bummed about paying for 8 days of dining for 7 in the parks, but this has worked out much better since it gives us more credits to play with and since it was paid for in advance, doesn't hurt as much. :teeth:
