Am I doomed? :(

To make a very long story short: I am planning on traveling to Disney in October with friends. our group had 2 family suites and 1 standard room at AOA. The standard room and one family suite were under my name. When canceling the family suite under my name, both rooms were cancelled. I was upset and the cast member was apologetic but there was nothing she could do. By the time we had tried to rebook it, the room was already rebooked. They were able to find me a pass holder room at all star movies but the problem is I have no rental car so meeting up with friends and family will be difficult. I'd love to be a pop century, just a hop skip over. There is absolutely no availability. What do you recommend? Is there normally cancellations once the 45 days is upon us? Just curious. Needing pixie dust!!

I'm not sure I'm following you correctly here.....

You cancelled two of the three rooms and the cast member cancelled all three instead of your requested two???

And in the same phone call she accidentally cancelled the full reservation for all three rooms???

And it was her mistake and now she can't get you back to your one room???

I would see this as an error on Disney's part and they should fix it!

I would be calling guest relations and getting this straighten out.

There are cancellations all the way up to 5 days before check-in. I would bang on the online system off and on until something pops up and than call Disney and request that they move you. In the meantime, I would have a note on my reservation that the CM screwed up and released your AoA room accidentally and booked you at ASMv so you don't get a lot of flack when you try to change your reservation. I would also look to see if something opens up at POP. Good luck!
 

You should be accommodated, it's their mistake and not yours. You need to speak calmly to a guest relations person, explaining that you need to be close to friends and family and moving to another resort doesn't work for you. They need to put you back at AofA, don't give in.
 
I called to cancel one out of the 2 rooms in my name, and both rooms were cancelled. They did accommodate me... At all star movies. Which in their defense, is a value resort at the best price they have available. I just wish she would have double checked with me before canceling both reservations after I made it clear, in my opinion, only the family suite under my name was to be cancelled
 
OP, IMO you still need to call guest relations. You didn't cancel both, the CM did, so Disney needs to rebook you at AoA. It's not acceptable to have to split the party up over something that was not your fault.
 
I wouldn't have gotten off the phone until they fixed it... How long ago was this? If it was just recently you may be able to convince them to fix it now but if it was a while ago and you were ok with it for a while you might be stuck.
 
I agree with a PP that you still need to call guest services. I am sorry, but a room at a totally different resort is not an option in my book. They need to do something that keeps your entire party at the same resort.
 
I absolutely agree with all the PP's, you should call guest relations and explain the situation. Speaking from my experience in retail/customer service, if THEY made the mistake then THEY should fix it. Disney is just like any other business and should be treated as so. If a waiter at a restaurant got your order wrong, you would tell them, right? When I was an assistant manager in retail you can bet I made sure my employees(and myself) always corrected any mistakes we made because it was the right thing to do. This is an even bigger mistake because we're talking about thousands of dollars and a vacation. Definitely call!
 
Hi there! GREAT NEWS! I was placed on the reservation line with a very sympathetic cast member who went over and beyond to get me a room at AOA!!!! Yay for pixie dust!
