I will freely admit, if I see 3 interlocking black circles I think "Mickey", I plan our trips months, sometimes years out to Disney, I have been over 26 times, and own more Disney clothes than any other brand. I listen non stop to Disney Ridethrough music. I am a DISNEY GEEK if there ever was one.

My 5 yo son, has started to take on some of these traits as of late, and I put the question to you: "Am I Creating a Disney Geek?"

He requests the Haunted Mansion music when he gets in the car, and can recite the Ghost Host verbiage, and sing the song "Grim, Grinning Ghosts."

He knows the Cinderella Castle on site. He also can pinpoint the differences between a Disney monorail and a regular electric monorail.

He got into the car one day and says, "Mom, I want to be an Imagineer! I want to build things at Disney" Yeah, he's 5. He also wants to be a rockstar, but Imagineer is on the list.

He runs around the house in his Pirate Mickey Ears, and insists that he wear his Capt Jack costume if we watch and Pirates movie.

These are just the tip of the iceberg. Anyone else feel like they have a Disney Geek in the making?

We too have a Disney Geek in the making!! DD is a hidden Mickey finder, everywhere!! LOL She is very familiar with the layout of the parks, and will tell family where certain attractions are in the park...lol. She too has told us that she would like to work at Disney, she wants to be a performer and has said that she will take some classes to teach her how to do those things....she is 4. We call her our Belle in training! Her room is decorated very Disney, and also likes to wear the apropriate outfit for the movie, and/or bring out the right dolls to watch it...it is really cute to watch though!

I just said to DH the other night, that I think we definatly have a Disney addict in the making!!

We just redid their room Pirates of the Caribbean. Johnny Depp everywhere!

I like to think of it as making memories!!:wizard:

DS (9) also wants to be an Imagineer (as well as a veterinarian). He insist on picking a different resort each trip ( he truly believes one day we will have stayed at every resort). Any extra money he gets he throws in the Disney fund. Grandma gave him $20 the other day and he put in the DIsney fund. I would have ran to the store and bought myself a toy when I was that age. We fight over which places we want to eat each trip. He has his favorites and insists on doing it every trip and I like to try new places each time.

My DS5, future PIXAR employee, has already redesigned all of his PIXAR DVD covers, as well as created some new ones of his own.

Guilty, on three charges!
My DD2 can see a picture of non-doll items in IASW (the sun, the hippo) and know it is "Small World". She can point out POTC on a map. At least once a day she wants to go to Disney World.
DS4 also asks once a day when we are going back to Disney World. He wants to watch YouTube ride videos all day! He has decorated his room with Park Maps (HIM, not me.) and can show you his favorite rides at each park.
DD5 can tell he difference between Cinderella's castle and Sleeping Beauty's. She also has a park map in hand most days. (keep in mind, our last trip was over a month ago, and they don't know about the next one.) Every time we go up a hill, she thinks it is Splash Mountain. Makes driving in the car alot of fun!
Sometimes I worry that they won't have the same "magic" about it that I did growing up, but I think they have i more! (if that is possible)

I have been actively grooming my two to surpass my own level of Disney-geekiness! DS is 9, and he is realy into the behind-the-scenes information. He loves the modern marvels episode about the parks. DD, on the other hand, is still a princess!

After our last trip, which was a surprise, they both made me promise that they could help plan the next one!

Yep, I've got one of those too...my DS5 loves everything to do with WDW, disney channel, etc. Last night was movie night--he chose to watch the free planning video. (second in line would have been the modern marvels episode.) He loves to watch youtube videos of ride (like a previous poster)--especially the ones that he is too short to go on. At school he will play Disney (pretending to ride rides) endlessly...He loves looking at park maps, and one of his favorite books is the souvenir guide to WDW...He will endlessly plan a trip (pretend, unfortunately ) and organize each day ("We're going for 6 days, the first day is Magic Kingdom...but only if it's extra magic hours..."....watch out, TGMike!:rotfl: ) We have friends at church who own DVC and love egging him on--on Sunday he informed them that we are all going to WDW together next week! (BwaHahaha!!!)

On disney channel he loves Zach and Cody, and the DCOM movies. (esp. the last one, Minute Men.) He likes HSM  , knows all the words to Bet on It and will sing them at the drop of a hat.

I love my disney kid!

Guilty, guilty, guilty...yup, I'm guilty too. I only let DD watch sprout or the Disney channel. She watches the planning video for fun. She asks for new YouTube videos nightly. Her clothes are mostly Disney fashions. She has a HSM bedroom. All her cds are Disney. If anyone gives her money, she puts it in a jar "for Disney"...and if you ask if she wants to spend it on anything else...the response is "no, that's Disney money" And the most recent one: She likes to "scrapbook" when I do. However, she announced to me that she only wants to scrapbook Disney pictures from now on. ;) OOPS!!!!

:rotfl:

My kind of girl. My DS asked for 3 Disney books off of Amazon. One was a kids mystery book about Disney, but the other two I thought were more for grown ups. An Imagineering book and a planning book. Of course we bought them all to add to our collection of Disney planning books.

Guilty, Guilty, Guilty! :wave2:

My DD2 loves everything Disney, we have had to TiVo Playhouse Disney on every tv in the house so she can watch Mickey at any hour. We took her to Disney for her 2nd Birthday and now she wants to live in the Princess house. We are going on the cruise in August and everyday she wakes up, asks for Mickey and then states that "we go see him on the boat". I love sharing Disney with her and seeing her light up when she talks about it. A geek? Maybe but I wouldn't have it any other way!
