Does anyone else bring their own blankets and pillowcases with them? I never used to but after reading a Tip on the "Disney Tips" Forum saying how the sheets the only things washed..that the blankets or comforter are hardly EVER washed...grosses me out a bit...

Does anyone else feel this way..enough to bring there own stuff anyway??

Also, can anyone reccomend a good sound machine..we are a family used to sleeping with fan noises...anyone have any ideas??W/o having to lug our fan to Florida from NY. lol

THanks!!

We always bring our own pillows and fitted bottom sheets - hate the hotel sheets that never ever stay tucked in during the night!

Sound Machine... We have the Homemedics sound machine alarm clock. I fall asleep to crickets every night....It's so relaxing!

I've never taken any pillows, blankets, sheets anywhere. Also, when it says sheets are washed regularly, that includes pillow cases.

We just got back from POFQ and we moved rooms after the first night (building 7 by the parking lot is where all the Disney buses wait in the morning!) and when we arrived at our new room the maid was taking the blankets out of a laundry bag and putting them on the bed. They do wash the blankets - obviously. The sheets were changed once during the 6 nights we were in the room which I thought was very reasonable. By the way the beds are so comfortable there.
I personally wouldn't drag linens on my holiday. We always just fold the bedspread down to the foot of the bed and never use them. :flower:

Does anyone know if one could just call mousekeeping and request clean bedspeads? I have an asthmatic son and a couple of his triggers are dust and certain perfumes/colognes. I have grown very concerned over the possibilities of an old bedspread sending us to the hospital instead of the World.

Maddi: I think you can definetly request clean bedspreads if it is a heath concern for your son. That must be very scary at hotels having that constant risk!! :scared1:

Nadias Mommy: I think they probably do wash them, but just to be sure, it is a nice thing to know you are sleeping on fresh blankets and pillowcases from hom :cloud9: I also requst the Homedics sound machine. It's just awesome!

:) I hope this helps! :)

Okay..not so nervous anymore..you guys don't make it sound 1/2 as bad as the Disney Tip thread I read before...so thanks!

And where do I get the Homedics Sound Machine???

Thank you!

Glad to know I am not crazy! I was planning on bringing sheets and pillowcases for our vacation use only.

Bed Bath Beyond, Linnens and Things, CVS even. They're all over! I think it's about $30. But it's great... There's crickets, thunder, rain, ocean, brids, etc...

You might do a little research on sound machines. We also used to use a fan for noise at night, and then bought a Homedics machine. It was awful because the sound appeared to have a 2-3 second loop, and then you could tell it was repeating. It was so annoying laying there listening to the repetition that I couldn't sleep! Totally defeats the purpose of a sound machine! We purchased a sound machine by Marsona - the TSC-330. It's pricier - around $80, but smaller size for travelling, and well worth it!

I can not stand to have a hotel blanket or comforter touch me, especially my face. But I can't fall asleep without covers up over most of my face. So I started bringing a small fleece blanket with me. Its not a full size blanket, just a square throw blanket that is very soft. I will not travel without it. I put it across my shoulders and face between me and the sheets and blanket. I sleep much better now in hotel rooms now that I have my blankie :goodvibes

Thats a good idea! I also like the above poster who warned me about the reapeating sounds of the sound machine..I have a family who would definatly notice that! Thanks for the great ideas ladies! :earsgirl:

I have to honetsly say that there is no sound of looping on mine. If there was I would have thrown it out the window by now :) http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=13307059 this is what I have...
