Am I Crazy?

I dont think it was bash at all ... I took it as I don't think any of us are surprised she wouldn't want to share her birthday . My oldest wouldn't have been thrilled either . : )

Im jealous you are getting to go see the lights and decorations. Hubby and I have talked about it for years, we just can't stand the thought of the crowds. HAVE FUN !!

OPPS... now I see it is very pricey ! WOW .. that is expensive.

yes, very pricey. if we go in early march 2012 instead, we can stay 3-4 days with hoppers (and hopefully free dining) for that price, and the parks will be much less crowded. DH said now that we had a ballpark figure on a quick trip during holiday season, we'd save up specifically for it and do it in a year or two.

Excellent idea ! Maybe a sweet 16 bday trip for your girl.

I don't think you are crazy for it at all.... after all I am flying 3000 miles to see Disney at Christmas time on a short trip as well. We have 5 total park days, but for the amount of time it takes us to travel it seems a bit crazy! I say go and enjoy!

I think that you've made a smart choice. There is so much to do at Disney during the holiday season. You are going to miss a lot of it if you only have a couple of days. Start saving and planning for that ideal holiday trip. You'll be glad that you chose to go when you have the time to savor it all.

It doesn't sound crazy to me at all... well, maybe just a little :) I've taken my kids over Thankgiving before. In fact it was our favorite trip!

It was pretty crazy though... I ended up having to work a half day. My kids came to work with me. We left Nashville around 130pm and arrived at Disney around 2am!! Spent Thanksgiving day (Thursday), Friday, Saturday and PLANNED to spend a half day at 1 park and then Drive straight back to Nashville so the kids could go to school on Monday.

HAHAHA!!! Did NOT happen as planned!!! We had an awesome time in the park Sunday Morning, got back to the van and it wouldn't start!! DS had left his gameboy in the back charger the ENTIRE time we were there!! Battery dead!! We didn't get out of there til almost 5pm and had to stop somewhere for the night. They skipped school monday and I went in late for a half day of work!!

Eventhough all the madness, it was still our Favorite trip! We are currently planning for next Thanksgiving. I love my family and all the hoopla that goes on over the holidays, but we see each other often or plan other trips to visit them. To us, its actually one othe few times my kids and I can get to spend alone together and bond without the craziness of normal everyday life.

We just came back from the nightmare trip... 7 nights at OKW in a 2br... would have been totally awesome, but my parents and my neice and nephew came.. SOFA BED IS NOT COMFY!!! :)

Enjoy your trip!! I'm jealous!!

OMG, you poor thing! that is a true nightmare come to life for me! i believe i'd have to jump off the roof of the castle if i had to endure a trip with either of my parents or my nephew! i hope you get to go back soon for a more relaxing trip!

looks like it's a moot point, guys. the quote is almost $1000 for TWO days! :scared1: i guess we'll be sticking to summer trips, lol.

After Jan 1st the rates usually drop and the decorations and light show are still up. Some years my kids Christmas break goes beyond Jan 1st and we try to go then.
